Win This One For My Sister

By: roberto | August 14th, 2009

Tonight for the Trofeo Tim, Juventus takes on Milan and Inter in Pescara (very close to my home town of Fossacesia). Now I didn’t make the trip, but my sister will be in the house for this one. She’ll be wearing a yellow t-shirt holding a big black, red, and white sign reading “Juventina Canadese”. If anyone spots her, shoot off a comment. I’m feverishly jealous right now.

IERI… OGGI… DOMANI… SEMPRE JUVE!!!

ok really let's be serious guys, whatever the years were you have a trophyless streak for a long, long time. And the fact that you count the '05 trophy with pride, MAD, just shows how disturbed you really are. If Juve were ever handed a trophy on a silver platter with a little bow on top like Inter were, never would be proud of that. Ever. But that is, I guess, how you and I are different.
  • HolyMann
no i meant 89 - 06....i get confused on how you read the dates, whether to start with the beginning year (88) or the ending year (89)....either way, i think we both understood each other....i know you would count it with pride, and yes you're right, so would i, but i was implying about the trophy's (Serie A) you won on the pitch and not the ones handed to you
  • I like trophyless steaks, personally. The trophyfull ones are far too expensive for me.
  • MAD
    P.S. it was '88-'05 not '89-'06.

Or is that what you meant?

    :D
  • MAD
"i was talking bout Serie A"

I didn't read what you meant. Only what you wrote. If you mean the League Championship, then you would be correct.

But then I would say that there is a very good reason it had taken so long.

"but ofcourse you would count the 2005 wouldnt you"

I count it with pride. Why wouldn't I? If your lot didn't cheat, you could have counted it yourself.
  • HolyMann
great to see you concentrating on every single word....i was talking bout Serie A - nothing from 89 to 2006...but ofcourse you would count the 2005 wouldnt you
  • MAD
... and someone needs to review their math in regards to "trophyless streaks".

Or not. It's funny either way.
  • It is indeed. So is the Trofeo Berlusconi.

HolyMann, I would prefer Zebina to get the axe as he's older, a jackass, and on a higher salary. But for those 3 reasons I don't think too many clubs would be interested. Grygera would probably be sold.
  • MAD
"i was just nodding my head when i was reading the comments….i guess a 17 year trophyless streak can do that to someone"

Actually it was the Juventus Thought Police that did that to a person.

    The TIM trophy is meaningless.
  • HolyMann
yeah, same here....i was just nodding my head when i was reading the comments....i guess a 17 year trophyless streak can do that to someone

well, if we get Zaccardo, does that mean we'll have to offload someone? Grygera? Molinaro? Zebina? who do you think will get the axe?
  • Sofia
alessio, Mourinho is pathetic. he acts like a little boy. some people really need to grow up! i'm actually disappointed that i didn't get to partake in the argument during the match! Haha! I was at work :(
  • Haha Sofia I love Mourinho's press conferences, what a pathetic person.

I think Zaccardo is a great option, I don't think he's done well in the Bundesliga but he was a good fullback until that fateful moment in Germany destroyed his confidence. (Also uncovered Fabio Grosso)
  • Robee
Tuttosport doens't know what it wants; "Momo only 3 weeks out counting fron now". Great relief :)
  • Sofia
wow! looks like i missed a good fight alessio! but from reading the comments its still funny:) i just love how childish people act when they lose
  • Robee
Mellberg supposedly wanted to leave because he didn't play muc, but I (don't know why) just think that's bullshit, just like the Zanetti-story...
On the other hand, Zaccardo is an Italian, a good player, I think he's better than Mellberg and he can also be placed as a right-back or centre-back.
I see it as good news, since the only reason he would be coming, is a sale of Grygera and I really want to kick his ass out... He's not worthy of being a juve player.

Then again, what about Caceres? Unless we place him at the centre-back, since that is his natural position.

Anyway, I think it would be a good move selling Grygera and loaning Zaccardo with an option to buy him. Everything is better than Zdenek...
  • HolyMann
is it true we're moving to get Zaccardo on loan? he's never really impressed me, but i havent really watched him alot....is this supposed to be good news...and if it's true about getting Zaccardo, why the hell did they sell Mellberg??
  • Robee
So, thought the post didn't make it true, sorry for the double :p

Don't worry Alex, Criscito will be back. He said, and I quote him "that it doesn't matter where he would play next year: juve or Genoa". He likes both teams but he wanted a bit more security this year in terms of playing time, which is good; he's at a crossroads in his career and now he can't afford to stand still; he needs to keep on improving. He's not ready for the absolute top level right now, but he will be.
He's a smart kid and a winner. He loves juve and he will be back to prove Ranieri and some others they were wrong. I'm confident he'll win some prizes in black and white.
It is simply the best choice if he wants to develop beyond next year and play a role in the azzurri...
  • Robee
Nah, Criscito will come back to juve alex, that's my guess. And I wouldn't even be surprised is he came back next summer (if he continues to go crescendo in his game). He stated that it didn't matter much to him where he would play this year, as long as he had his chances. But Genoa threw the money on the table and he was almost morally obligated to stay and to repay Genoa for this chance.
But he loves juve just as much and he will be back to prove Ranieri and some others wrong and wing prices. That kid has juve DNA inside his vains; a true winner in black and white.
Plus if he wants to go for an azzurri ride, that is his best option.
  • Inter without a doubt. I'm not Torinese, so that match doesn't mean too much to me other than the damn Toro are a pain in the ass everytime we play them. Excited to see them go down. Being Barese, Napoli-Juve is always a very special game.
  • alex
one more thing can someone explain why the roma fans are alright with andreolli leaving and burdisso arriving?????

as juve have many rivals which are the worst for you alessio?
  • Well he's got an option, get over it, or look for a move to Milan/Inter or his career is going to be relatively trophyless. Either way, even if he decides to leave, we'll get a nice chunk of cash.
  • alex
if he wanted juve he would of done everything to stay. i really think after he got butchered by totti, dropped then loaned out, it pissed him off and rightly so. its a shame ranieri didnt see his use as a left back i think in a couple of years time he will be one of the top 3 in his position, the same for marchisio
  • Then we better get a good amount of cash for him, alex. If he wants to win titles, he'll be back at Juve.
  • alex
criscito wont be going back to juve i dont think. he will either stay at genoa or join napoli
  • Robee
50% was sold to Genoa for 7.5 million if I'm not mistaken, so if we want him back, he'll be expensive... But we should be able to get him back next year. Molinaro is a disaster... So the investment is necessary.
  • incredible cock
can sombody tell my whats the situation now about criscito? is loaned, sold, co-owned by genoa?
  • al
    http://football-italia.net/aug...

    Mou rages. how typical.
  • At first when Ferrara said he was putting the team through a very physical regimen, I was apprehensive given last year, then grateful after the injuries had not really come about, but they are now. He might need to ease up a bit.

Glad to have you on board, MAD.
  • Mo
Poulson still sucks! We can see that Caceres' best position is not at RB. We are really going to struggle from the flanks, thats definatly our week point.
  • zaki
hate juve's medical team. they are really stupid.how come we now have 7 damn injuries ????

    adp,camo,gio,diego,sissoko,marchisio,and trezeguet !!!

    WTF ???
  • MAD
"I probably will not however make 5+ comments about Inter when Juventus is playing say, Lazio."

So? I might, if the game has all the qualities of a Juventus match - bogus calls, offside goal, handling...

"You’re welcome to trash Juve all you’d like"

Apparently not, or have we forgotten the King Hypocrite speech already, officer?

"please keep the personal insults to a minimum"

I have yet to make one. I merely quoted what was thrown at me. Besides, you even deleted comments that I made without swearing quoted in them. I guess you just didn't like them, huh.

P.S. five or so more comments today, huh. Still obsessed?
  • Tiago has done well indeed, hopefully this shift to a 3-man midfield will help him.

adam no, he's pretty young. This is his 2nd year with Primavera, he's only 18.

Johonna, well, it's yay trophy but preseason tournament of course, no one cares. Mancini and Quaresma didn't look totally worthless today, maybe there's some hope for them.
  • Sam
Yeah Fjd, Tiago has certainly improved with this new tactic and he showed it in the first match. I have been impressed with him so far in these pre season friendlies.
  • Well, congratulations Juventus on your first Trofeo TIM. I suppose us followers of Milenese clubs will have to let you in the secret clubhouse now.

Is it everything you ever thought it would be?

(and re Julio Cesar, personally, I think he was just really tired.)
  • Fjd
Am i the only one who feels that tiago was worth mentioning in the 1st match?
he held his ground well imo, and delivered some good passes.
  • adam
I thought he was loaned out.
  • Rossi is injured, Sam.
  • There's a difference between being obsessed with another team and merely being a fan of calcio and talking about it. I talk about Inter often, I also talk about Milan, Roma, Fiorentina, etc. This was a match against Inter, so of course I am going to comment on the other team. I probably will not however make 5+ comments about Inter when Juventus is playing say, Lazio.

You're welcome to trash Juve all you'd like, I just ask that you, (and all Juve fans) please keep the personal insults to a minimum. If you'd like to trash me as a host or poor blogger, be my guest.
  • MAD
“I don’t think it could be much worse than 07-08, Khalid. 5th place, and they didn’t get a home win until January or something.

Also Johonna does JC look chubby to you, or is it just me

Match is over MAD, I’m here on friendly terms.

And yes, Johonna he looked a bit, shall we say, pudgy to me.

Wow, this many posts by someone who is not a supporter of the club on which he posts...

    One would think him/her obsessed."

especially after the way he treats visitors to his blog who are merely quoting the insults, unprovoked, that were thrown - one might even go so far as to say... a poor guest.
