  • Preview up.

  • Right now everyone knows what you're going to get with Amauri on the pitch. So, I say you start ADP with Paolucci, and then if Alex isn't bringing his best stuff, you sub on #11. At least this way you give Del Piero the chance to change the game.

Fuck I've been watching youtube videos of Daniele all day. What a player. Reminds me of an up-and-coming midfielder of our own. Any guesses?

  • ricci

Paolucci definitely more of a finisher than a creator. ADP-Paolucci with that midfield wouldn't be bad at all. At least Paolucci runs off the ball.

  • Amauri had ADP next to him for 5 months last season...and Paolucci is more of a #9 than a #10. I'm for Paolucci-ADP up front.

  • Gaetano

Please no amauri. He has had too many chances.

  • crossing my fingers for tomorrow's game.

  • Armando

I think it's pretty obvious the way we need to play tomorrow if we want any chance of winning against an on-form Roma. That happens to be a 4-3-1-2, like this:

    Buffon
    Brazzo Legro Chiellini PDC
    Candreva Sissoko Marchisio
    Diego
    Paolucci Amauri

I think Amauri will probably play better with a second striker next to him, as that's how it was last season with Del Piero next to him, and at Palermo he always had Miccoli next to him. It may not solve his scoring drought and his loss of form, but it might help a little bit.

  • Beppe

Read this really interesting article on FI about how Elkann could be responsible for the demise of Juve. I know we like to blame Blanc and co and i'm in agreement but this theory presented in the article is very intriguing.

  • Jorid

mohd: That article is idiotic, it made me laugh. First of all, the best way to represent your country and your domestic league in a European competition(CL or Europa) is to get as far as possible in it and possibly win the whole thing. Also, he mentions Napoli, Palermo and Cagliari as possible candidates. Either one of these 3 teams would get destroyed in the C.L. Napoli seems like the only team with a chance to make it to the group stages, and even then they would struggle. Let's take a best case scenario/cinderella story and let's say that Cagliari gets 4th and they even make it past the 3rd qualifying round and go to the group stages. Realistically speaking, they will fail miserably there once put against other CL regulars. How would that make Serie A look then, if a top 4 team would do so badly?

  • for that commercial, i don’t really get the joke, i mean he’s back, okay, then what has it got to do with costing camo’s goal?

It's just a joke that Amauri's head is in the air because he just went on a great vacation, so he accidentally turned off the power switch when "hanging" up his shirt. And the banner from the fans means "they are all just returned" joking that that's the reason we all suck.

Speaking of sucking, tomorrow is no good. It's appropriate that the first Roma-Juve game that they have a chance of winning is after Spalletti is already gone. Poor guy, for all his great work with Roma, never could beat Juve.

  • mohd

    i think it is 12 or 15 years J
on a said note if anyone want a laugh this is a joke of an article
    http://goal.com/en/news/1717/e...

sorry to disturb you with goal.com usuall shit

  • j

i hope juve is not in the middle of the power struggle.

football clubs may not mean the same for everyone, but i'm sure fans as a whole, would not like them to be treated as commodity or tools.

this reminds me of the new stadium, i'm sure many of us disliked the idea of naming our stadium as a company's name. although i accept that it is inevitable in today's environment, football has become a business, period. maybe they will give it an honourable name after the sponsorship term has ended, how long will that be, anyone has any ideas?

  • j

that sissoko goal is great, haha, no one expects him to take on the defender and go for goal himself,we need his presence now

  • Jorid

Gaetano: That's Manuel Giandonato. He's indeed from the Primavera and he's a mid. How good is he? Honestly I don't know, but doubt he will get any play time anyways.

  • Gaetano

    Our 19 for saturday.

Juventus squad for Roma match: Buffon, Chiellini, Cannavaro, Grosso, Salihamidzic, Marchisio, Del Piero, Amauri, Manninger, Zebina, Grygera, Sissoko, Candreva, Paolucci, Diego, De Ceglie, Yago, Legrottaglie, Giandonato.

Who the hell us giandonato? Must be from the primavera. Does anyone know what position he plays?

  • Jorid

The commentators in the video: "He has torn the goal" "He has torn the defense in two!"

  • Jorid

papai: Diego still has a lot more to show us from his repertoire. Until then however, this continues to be one of the best things I've seen a Juve player do on the field the last few seasons:

  • Pretty interesting theory in the article al.
Jorid, I think Diego is/will prove to be the best signing after the farce.
Anyways, Many happy returns to our own Momo da beast!

  • Jorid

Al I agree. John and Lapo can't hold a candle to L'Avvocato or Umberto, who were both great figures for Juve.

Happy birthday to the best signing of the post-Farsopoli era. Momo's 25 today.

  • al

guys, below is the comment I posted before

    al | January 18th, 2010 at 2:26 am

from the article about moggi, i think that agnelli family is not fully behind juve.

    and now there is this
    article.

    anyone care to comment?

seems that there are 2 camps: (andrea) agnelli vs elkann brothers.

  • j

maybe amauri will be back this weekend

pazzini seems great, but can he adapt to our squad? a big-money risk, imo

  • ooBia

i agree Robee, ADP is not the same. but at 35 he is better than Amauri could ever be or even dream of. i included him in my little list out of respect and i still think he has some magic in him as a sub, or super sub at that.

  • Robee

ooBia: Trez, Iaquinta and ADP... I'm fine with the first two names...

  • Don Michele

    LMAO. Nice one, Ale.

  • The answer is always the defence. All great teams are built on a quality CB pairing. I mean conceding set pieces like the way we do, its a miracle that we have accumulated so many points. Then again, things were going well at the start, until suddenly everything spiraled out of control :(

  • ooBia

suiseiseki, Pazzini is welcome anytime. but i think our main problem is in the defense, namely another CB and LB. our striking force is not so bad when healthy, Trez, Iaquinta and ADP. Pazzini could be a good purchase but not now, maybe during summer IMO.

  • what's this blog's stance on Pazzini? I feel like he could be the answer to all your UselessBrazilian™ problems

  • j

seriously, that guy pissed me off, we waited like forever for chelsea-tiago to show up, and when he finally did, it was not for us, well he better stay that way and healthy too, scored a few more, molinaro too, and then off they go, i don't want to see their faces at juve anymore

for that commercial, i don't really get the joke, i mean he's back, okay, then what has it got to do with costing camo's goal? and you are welcome to bid for amauri, man city, we can sell you at a discount! reckon we can 15 million if man city bid?

anyway roma's going to be big, will this be the nail to ours and ciro's coffins, or will it finally be the light at the end of this long, dark tunnel, the real oasis in the desert? fingers crossed, i'm optimistic, i'll put it that way, don't want to jinx the remaining luck we have

    forza la vecchia signora!

  • ned lowe

i was watching the the barcelona v sevilla highlights last nite and the one thing that struck me was the fact that for all the intricate passing of xavi and iniesta, the joker in the pack are the off-the-ball runs of messi, henry, ibrahimovic, alves & abidal.
over in turin however, save for caceres and that assist by deceglie for diego in the game against napoli, everyone else just wants to punt long balls upfront from deep and hope something nice develops
as much as our midfield has disappointed, i think our forwards and fullbacks have also failed to give them options in terms of off-the-ball-runs...our forwards are too static and our fullbacks (save for caceres) need to improve in this regard

  • DJP

Yeah, that add is from last season. You can see he's wearing the No. 8 jersey. Still pretty fitting, though.

  • Rick

I know keeping amauri is costing us a lot but I reckon its hard to find decent strikers who have good ability in the air and have a similar stature like him. I'd keep him for at least the rest of the season to give him a chance to turn things around.

  • To be fair to Amauri, that ad has been around for a while in Italy I think. That is, before he sucked.

However, it seems awfully appropriate for the current circumstances.

  • I had seen this ad before :)
I like it that Tiago has scored in his debut and all that. Lets hope he stays there

  • Gaetano

    Nnahoj true mate so true!

  • Nnahoj

In two and a half years that mofo didn't even get a shot on target! And he scores on his debut over there? WTF???

  • Gaetano

Alessio, The same thing will happen to amauri if he leaves. Its just typical. We just have to worry about the juve now. If they decide to buy tiago, good for them. He wasnt doing shit for us and probably never will/would.

  • Tiago tonight scored in his Atletico debut...amazing.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...

  • o_man

why do i get the feeling that they had De Ceglie's mum sitting there during the commercial shoot because he is underage hahaha

  • Muh29

So true! What's even more funny, or sad, than that is, I've seen this commercial before--about a year ago, but never thought it would be like now. Amauri becomes so shit that even I, one that never really rate him that much (even during his Palermo tenure or his 1st half 1st season with us), would think it's impossible for him to reach this low. Again, who would have thought.

Now while we're at it, I remember Secco once admits that Mutu's sale were a mistake on his half and that he regrets it. Now I never like the desperate "if only mentality", but if you think about it again, Mutu's still here would eventually canceled out the purchases of Bojinov, Iaquinta, and especially Amauri's. The latter one is "the thing." Imagine the massive 20M euros+ (not to mention wages) that we can save and how it would be very crucial to invest on worldclass prima/seconda punta (or others weak depart. such as DF).

Then again, with this dumb-and-dumber-like-managements still running the show at Corco Galileo Ferraris, it would only be my desperate wishful thinking, yet again. Sigh. Oh how bad have we become.
