VotD: Man Of The Match
By: roberto | July 25th, 2009In a first half where we were literally being crushed, his super-human abilities pulled us ahead of Sevilla and helped Juventus grab three points in our first Group A match of the 2009 Coppa di Pace. If he isn’t considered one of the world’s greatest goalscoring threats I’ll gladly give up writing for this blog and revert to a life of isolation and depression. For me it couldn’t be any clearer, Amauri is already in top form and ready for this season to begin.
“I am happy to have been named man of the match but especially for the goal and the victory. We are improving and even with three strikers we did well, notwithstanding it was the first time we tried it out. We must only perfect the mechanisms”. -Amauri
Somewhere in Bavaria, Luca Toni is wondering if his days with the Azzurri are numbered and rightfully so. No one can touch Amauri in the air and his ground game is pretty descent for a man his size. If Lippi wants “those who can guarantee added value” then Amauri is surely the man for the job.
IERI… OGGI… DOMANI… SEMPRE JUVE!!!

Kudos Jorid, on actually digesting the other guys troll. I lost interest after about two sentences.
Caceres deal all depends on Poulsen moving. Barcelona spent a ton on him and want to sell him as opposed to loan with a fixed buy. I’d like him, but considering Barca spent 16mil on him, it’s going to be tough to sign unless Barcelona is willing to write his transfer off as a loss.

Cordoba, Samuel, Lucio, Chivu, Burdisso, Materazzi, Rivas…that’s what I imagine MAD is saying. And I can’t disagree with him. Cordoba is a good defender despite occasion fuckups, Samuel is one of the most underrated defenders in the world, and in general, Inter has insane depth at the back. I wish we had a lot more, we only have 4 CBs and 2 fullbacks per flank. A little thin for my taste.

I don’t put too much stock in preseason games, especially against K-league teams, but given how early we are in preseason, the team is getting into good fitness and a good passing rhythm. Seems Diego is mixing in with the team very well. And Gio shows he’s not frightened by competition with a great assist. Even Tiago is playing well!! The next season is looking promising.

Hi, guys! I’m a big fan of this site and I follow Juventus since the early 90’s here from Brazil.
I saw only a few moments from today’s game but that was enough to confirm that I don’t like Felipe Melo. He’s so onsolent and lacks the discipline.
The only good thing in his signing is that with him and Diego, brazilian TV channels will broadcast much more Juventus’ games.
I hope our midfield will be Sissoko-Marchisio-Camoranesi, right behind Diego.

Bemvindo, Ivan! I agree with you 100% on Felipe Melo. That midfield sounds great to me as well.

Zebina has to go, when he plays good all is well. But when he has a bad day he plays like a dirty bitch and should of gotten a red card today IMO.
