VotD: Claudio Marchisio & Marco Tardelli (Esoesgallo)
By: alessio | November 3rd, 2009About a month ago, I put up a post asking if any older Calcio fans could explain to me the resemblances between Tardelli and Marchisio that are so often being made. Unfortunately, there weren’t any responses but thankfully, Esoesgallo has reached out to the younger Juventus population and answered our questions. Grazie!!
Hat tip to ooBia, for bringing this up in the previous comments section. If you ever find any cool video, pictures, suggestions, general comments, or anything you’d like to see in a post, email it to us at juventus [at] theoffside (dot) com.

This video is awesome. Marchisio equals class. Tardelli equals class. Esoesgallo equals class.
And what does this prove? Esoesgallo reads the Juve Offside blog.

Marchisio seems to be unable to pull a Iaquinta. He should be tested on Gio’s or Camo’s place at a 4-2-3-1. Not maintened, tested.
BTW, Melo is pure ownage. I am brazilian, so I got everything he said to Culma. The guy seriously chickened out after all that.
Also, Diego is making a difference. I can’t wait to see ADP on the pitch on saturday’s game!

Will he be on the pitch?

very funny hes still bitter!

he has the right to be Sam….i still think he didnt deserve to be sacked with 2 games left in the season…

I disagree, he was terrible, his tactics and his substitutions were continuously terrible for 2 months or so!

Ranieri would have been sacked? I guess he’s forgetting the numerous crises (last fall, last spring, every time after a international break) we had last season where he was under intense pressure yet the management stuck with him. I don’t agree with canning him with 2 games to go, but they did it for a reason, to keep our CL spot. So it goes.

Ranieri shouldnt have been hired in the first place. Getting Ranieri was betraying Deschamps, who was a Juventino and stuck with us in Serie B.

i agree Papai.
Alessio, the worst case scenario was Juve finishing 3rd…would have still kept the CL spot

Agreed, papi.
No, the worst case scenario was finishing 4th place and having to do CL qualifiers. With the Confederation’s Cup, we would have had to start training 3 weeks earlier or so and some of the Confederation’s Cup participants (Melo, Italian players) would have only had a week off give or take. It wasn’t missing out on the CL, it was missing out on automatic qualification and having to rearrange the schedule.

ah ok, i thought we were secured at least a spot in third place.
was anyone relatively impressed by Caceres yesterday? did a couple of nice runs, linked well with the midfield and other than his idiotic tackle from behind, he was good defensively; did a nice sliding tackle to block a shot…..i prefer him to be a starter

It’s tricky cause he’s on loan. Grygera is a “capable” player but let’s be honest, he probably will not ever be more than that. I don’t think he’s hurting our team, but he’s not helping. Because of that, Caceres has much more potential and I’m all for giving him a long run out in the team, but is he going to develop well enough to be worth 10.5million euro? That’s a steep fee.

i was really impressed with Caceres. a couple more good performances and 12.5 million wont seem a lot on him.. what do u guys think? and yes on him being a starter.. i would take Smurfette over Grygera or Zebina, and NOT because she is hot :p

i dont think 10.5 million euros is a lot on a somewhat needed young player.

neither do i, i really think he has the potential to become something….but i guess we’ll have to wait till the end of the season to see if he is persistent with his performances and if he improves

I love Claudio! Ever since I saw him debut for us in Serie B I knew he would be immense! His slide after scoring against Livorno has been on my desktop ever since!
Great compilation. I can see the similarities now. He’s definitely more Tardelli than Conte.

didnt watch the match, just happy that juve win and bayern lose, looks like they are going out, but i trust the team not to be complacent against them (bayern). since against big teams we tend to be careful.
about moggi, we all agreed he’s a transfer genius, i mean cannavaro and carini??, but well its not all dirty and its not all clean, i wont be surprised if he gets benefits from his role, money from transfers, etc. i couldnt remember whether his son is involved or not, but lippi son is an agent right, dont trust those agents, and many of these coaches have sons as agents, seems like easy money making to me.
more importantly i dont understand why he (or tried) to influence the selection of referees, whether we are guilty of not (we are 29 times champ either way, we won it on the pitch and not on paper), the team is strong enough to win the scudettot by themselves, i dont understand why he put our team in jeopardy and he’s the reason why we are scrapping for tiago and working our butts off to get back to top, and yet he got the cheek to make comments like that.
about ranieri, he deserves to be fired, the team is on a losing run, in danger of missing UCL, lost the dressing room and especially the old guards, lost the fans, in short, he lost the plot.

Didn’t Deschamps quit on his own? I don’t think the management fired him. I know he didn’t agree with the management with a lot of things. I thought that was the main reason he left…not because the management betrayed him.

I think it was a case of him and the management having very different visions of transfer strategies. Some darker suggestions have been that the management didn’t think they could control him.
