anyone have a pic of that Juve jersey…either late 90’s or early 2000’s…where the stripes were sort of curled, along with the name on the back…

Marchionni officially sold on co-ownership to Fiorentina. No report on for how much yet.

Jim you brought back some nice memories. I always wanted to buy one of those with Edgar Davids’ name on the back and number 26 I think, but I never did. Here is one with Zizou’s name.

Alessio how much(let’s say Marchionni was sold 4 2.5 million) is our transfer budget now, around 20-23? Do you believe calciomercato that says that Udinese was offered 10 million plus half of Cristian Pasquato for D’ago?

Ahhh…that was a great season. 1997-1998.

Depends on the names, Jorid. I think for the right players, the team would be willing to spend 20mil or, or if there are more sales, 25mil give or take. But if they don’t find a player to their liking, they won’t spend it.
Sadly, I think the D’Agostino deal is completely dead.

Am I the only one who thinks we dont need to spend any more on the midfield? Just buy a great right back, and we’re good. Play with a Barcelona style 3-man midfield, one attacking midfielder (Camo/Iniesta), one typical central midfielder/regista (Marchisio/Xavi), and one defensive midfielder (Sissoko/Toure). It works well. Then we have Zanetti, Tiago, Poulsen, Giovinco, De Ceglie, etc available. I would play like this:
Buffon
MAGGIO Cannavaro Chiellini Brazzo
Camoranesi Sissoko Marchisio
Diego
Del Piero AmauriSubs:
Manninger for Buffon.
Brazzo for Maggio, then put Molinaro on the left.
Legro and Ariaudo for Canna and Chiellini.
De Ceglie for Camoranesi, switch to the left, and put Marchisio on the right.
Zanetti for Marchisio.
Poulsen for Sissoko.
Giovinco for Diego.
Iaquinta and Trezegol for Amauri and Del Piero.Marchionni and Mellberg: already sold.
Nedved: retired.
Who else to sell? Tiago, Knezevic, Grygera, and Zebina.
Also, Fausto Rossi should be promoted to the senior team. (Ariaudo as well, obviously.)BTW, i think i would keep Tiago over Poulsen, but i highly doubt Poulsen’s gonna agree to leave. We might have better luck selling Tiago.

Play with a Barcelona style 3-man midfield, one attacking midfielder (Camo/Iniesta), one typical central midfielder/regista (Marchisio/Xavi), and one defensive midfielder (Sissoko/Toure).
That would be more of a 4-2-2-2. From what I watched this last year, Iniesta had the freedom to roam but still played more as a CM than a attacking-mid. The problem I have with it is Marchisio is not a regista, and that’s why we need D’Agostino. Marchisio’s passing is not as refined, and it would confine him to laying deep when like Iniesta, he is great at going forward.
Apparently Fiorentina are also interested in Grygera. I’m glad we’re selling off some players, but I’d rather dump Zebina and Cannavaro before Grygera or Mellberg.

Here’s an interesting video of a game between Juventus and Fiorentina last season. It’s four minutes of Felipe Melo highlights so you can’t actually tell we won 1-0. However, with all the rumours linking him and us it might be worth a look.

Either he had the game of his life, or we need to take a second look at this Brazilian. You just know Secco has this link as a Favorite on his Internet Explorer.

Alessio, i think Marchisio’s passing just needs a bit more time to develop. Look at the end of the season, after Ferrara took over, he got 1 or 2 assists plus a goal in two games. Not to mention he practically single-handedly controlled the midfield in the final two games. Give Claudio a bit more time and he’ll be better than D’Agostino in my opinion.
Also, Camoranesi’s vision and passing is also ridiculously good, and he’s shown over the years that he’s also able to track back when needed, so i think he’d be fine in the 3-man midfield behind Diego. And Iniesta maybe shouldnt be called an attacking midfielder as he was a bit too reserved for that, but he does attack when he gets a chance. He’s like a mix between Messi and Xavi (though i think both are better than Iniesta though). That’s the role Camo should get.

yes Roberto, that video just reiterated wat i said in the previous post. Melo is the complete midfielder! he has great vision, he tore apart our offside trap with his perfect balls, hes ready to run at defences, he knows how to take his man on, and he wins the hard balls, and from wat ive heard hes an ariel threat as well. i would welcome him at Juventus, WITHOUT A DOUBT!!!

I wouldn’t. No more Brazilians, who are we, Milan? We’ve got two Brazilians who luckily are humble and team-players. Melo is neither, he is an asshole.
Melo would just bench Marchisio…and I cannot stand the guy. I will be royally pissed off if this transfer goes through, I’d rather Ledesma.
