It’s a good kick, yeah, but I think all of those Milan players can top it, honestly, and I’m not just saying that as a Milan fan.

He’s just as good and consistent as any of them.

From Juventus.com: Dario Knezevic underwent an operation in Arezzo following the knee injury incurred during the match against Bologna. The Juventus medical team said that the Croatian will be away from action for approximately three months. The operation was executed by a team of surgeons led by Professor Giuliano Cerulli. The defender will probably leave the clinic on Tuesday and will hence return to Turin.

Cristiano Zanetti is now officially full recovered and participated regularly in the squad’s training session.

Zdenek Grygera who suffered charley horse during the match against Roma will be examined tomorrow however his condition does not seem to be worrying and it is probable that the defender will be available for the match against Real Madrid.

Christian Poulsen and Jonathan Zebina are still recovering and underwent a seperate training session from the rest of the squad.

Hasan Salihamidzic trained separately but should be available for the next match.

Marchisio was back on the field also in a separate session and should be back in action in approximately 15 days.

    Great goal!

Alex hasn’t been scoring often so far. But when he’s scored they’ve been some beautiful strikes! It still jump up and down when I see his goal against Real Madrid! Que golazo!

Del Piero is among the best as is Juninho of Lyon. Juninho is a remarkable striker of a dead ball and arguably the best ever and is often left of these tyoes of discussions. Him and ADP are very under rated.

I recently heard an interesting question but I was clueless as to what the answer was… maybe someone here knows. Who has scored the most goals from a direct free kick ever?

And for the record, I still say the movie should have been called bend it like Baggio.

I’m not sure that there reliable world-wide records exist (especially for the first century or so of organised football), but I would be tempted to say that Juninho has scored the most of any contemporary player.

Platini held the unofficial Serie A record at one time, but I’m not sure that is still the case.

It would interesting to know. I am surprised its not a recorded statistic. It can be broken down as well. Attempts, Avg. Distance of Attempt, Shots on Target, Goals scored, Goal Scoring Avg based on attempts…

Really, the debate could be endless. You could argue technique until you are blue in the face. Statistics would be fun though to compare which techniques are best or most effective. Is it using the inside of the foot to curl one in like an ADP, Juninho, Pirlo, Mihajlovic or is it the power techniques of a Ronlado, Van Persie, Totti or Roberto Carlos?

I am sure a direct free kick would never get that in depth with stats, but the issue is a commonly debated one with many different opinions filled with bias. Numbers do not lie!

ADP is a hero.. i dont think that anyone in the world can seriously state anything to the contrary. He lives and breathes bianconero, a loyalty which defines his character.. he is proof that nice guys do not always finish last.

However, his [Tiago] latest comments will come as a real shock to both the club and fans after the situation seemed to be resolved.“I am not playing a lot and that is why I would like to go back to Portugal,” he revealed to Portuguese TV Antena1. “If from now until January things don’t change then I will look for the best option available.”

Oh, Tiago, Tiago. You’re finally getting some playing time and you’re playing well……not the time to bring it up.

So we finally know now why Tiago rejected every trade we structured for him in the past. They weren’t Benfica.

He’s mad, and doesn’t deserve the leeway our management is affording him. Bring back Criscito or Palladino.

Well we watched the Juve Roma game in a pub in Milan – my friends were watching the liverpool game but I warned them to turn around for Del Piero’s free and sure enough he stuck it in beautifully. feck him. I can’t believe people are still talking about beckham as a free kick taker – that’s just a myth. Anyway I hope Roma can turn around this horrible slump and give you a better game in the return fixture in ‘09

From what Ive read in the past, Dunga’s main problem with Amauri was Grimaldi and his slimeball tactics. Believe me, I cant really blame him for that.

Beckham takes a great free kick and puts in great crosses but errrmmmmmm that’s about it really. If anyone shows a modicum of aggression near him he backs off, lol. At least Alex is a more complete player in my humble opinion.
