I don’t get why Ranieri was bringing up Mo’ during his presser to begin with. Was he just embarrassed at his teams defeat (drubbing) and needed to go after someone? Personally, I’ld go after an easier target. Like the Juve goalkeeper that looked like crap.
I also don’t get why it’s Mo’ that’s a douche bag for responding to Ranieri in the first place.
Finally, I don’t get why anyone isn’t surprised that Mo’ fired back a particularly good shot right at Ranieri’s trophy case, or lack thereof.

I’m not complaining with what was said, it all leads to good quality entertainment and also raises the rivalry to a whole new level.

Oh come on, Alessio is just upset that our guy was more witty than his guy.
R: I dont need to win to be happy, unlike some people I know (coughjosecough).
M: True, winning makes me happy which is probably why I am so successful. Maybe if you had a more winning attitude you would win more. But then again, you are probably too old to change now.Snap.

We signed a new goalie, Alex Manninger.

There’s a reason every single other coach thinks he’s a douchebag, and it’s because he has no class. Ranieri pointed out a fact, that he’s not under pressure to win every game like Mourinho is. If Juve lost the first two, we’d be angry. If Mourinho did, they’d call for him to be sacked. Mourinho decided to be a douchebag and respond. Too bad Ranieri got just as far in the CL as Mourinho did at Chelski.
Juve declared our mercato closed, and continued. I like that, we can swoop for our targets easier and it’s a pleasant surprise. Manninger is now Bianconero, great, he’s better than Belardi/Chimenti and I feel better about our #12. I’d like to loan Ivanovic because our defensive cover still worries me a bit.

“I think it’s best to leave the August controversies behind because they will pass with time just like football matches,” Ranieri told the Corriere dello Sport. “However, Mourinho has shown everyone what he is really like by unveiling his true personality and what he thinks of his colleagues.
“It will be very difficult for him though. He has taken charge of a team that has won two consecutive titles and he will be expected to win everything. (WHAT I WAS SAYING IN THE FIRST PLACE)
“But I have gained a certain wisdom from my 70 years and I will be the first to congratulate him if he succeeds.”That’s class. Fuck off, Jose.

Does anyone know if the game vs Man Utd tomorrow will be on TV at all that I could DVR it? Or am I just going to hope I can find some score updates while I’m here at work?

mourinho is an idiot…why is he even saying crap like this to ranieri?? is it because Juve beat inter??? he really needs to move on! he is acting like a kindergardener who just got their favourite blue crayon taken away. the italian media are on ranieri’s side

You guys know that Ranieri and Mo’ have exchanged words years before, right? The Tinker brought up and insulted Mo’ in an unrelated context and re-started a feud. Mo’ shot back. Ranieri reposted. It’s going to go on for a while.
The most upset man in Serie A when Mo’ came to town was Ranieri. It makes sense that he would start shit.
Personally, I don’t think either one was very wrong in their descriptions for each other.

MAD, the Italian press disagrees with you and Mourinho. He didn’t insult Mourinho, he brought up a fact with a bit of a nudge. Mourinho chose to insult him personally and professionally, he’s an asshole.
Stefano Agresti of sports daily ‘Corriere dello Sport’ wrote a particularly scathing column, but he certainly wasn’t the only one who criticised the Portuguese coach. “It was ugly listening to Mourinho attacking Ranieri,” wrote Agresti. “The tone, method and content were all hideous. We had rarely heard such strong and offensive comments made by an experienced professional about his colleague. And we’re in Italy!”
“That doesn’t even cover the errors, which considering Mourinho’s perfectionism were probably planted there on purpose, concerning Ranieri’s age and trophy haul. “What was truly ugly in his words was the extreme arrogance which had been glimpsed in his Premier League experience, but now we have experienced it first-hand, it’s even more direct and painful.
“Clearly, we are not scandalised and we don’t want to censor jokes, especially since it was Ranieri who started this verbal tennis match a few days ago. But there should never be a lack of respect, not in any debate, no matter how heated. Mourinho responded to a nudge with a punch in the face, striking out at both Ranieri and good taste.” The ‘Corriere dello Sport’ columnist even urged president Massimo Moratti to take a stand against this interview, which the coach made to the club’s official television channel: “It would be a good thing if someone within the club’s administration reminds him that the line between personality and arrogance is a fine one. Moratti is not used to crossing that line.”

I am proud to be not in agreement with the Italian media, frankly, considering their ability to just make shit up.
I actually read that same article and I zipped over to reread Mo’ s words. Here’s the interview from the Inter channel:
“But Claudio Ranieri is right in what he says. I’m very demanding on myself. I need to win to be happy, to be sure that everything is going well, and this is why I have won a lot in my career. He said that winning is not important for him. This mentality might explain why at his age he has won a Super Cup, a small cup. He has never won any important trophies. Maybe he needs to change his mentality, but perhaps he’s too old to do so.”
Here’s the link so you can read it yourself:
http://www.inter.it/aas/news/reader?N=29610&L=en&IDINI=29620I missed any reference to age that Mo got wrong. I am also not certain that after looking at Ranieri’s Wiki page that Mo’ got his trophy haul wrong.
I doubt that this is the most shocking thing they have heard a coach say. Personally, I think the media are bored and are trying to make a mountain. The fact is, these two don’t like each other.

He’s the perfect guy for the job at Juventus. He actually coaches players and creates stars, Zola, Lampard, Terry, Canizares, all can thank him for their careers. Of course it’d take a while to get to the top of coaching when you actually played for most of your life. Obviously Mourinho had the time to jump in at age 25. Ranieri and Lippi were busy on the field.
Mourinho’s trophy haul doesn’t impress me. Abrahimovic bought him the premiership, but he couldn’t take Chelsea any farther than Ranieri did. The media created Mourinho, the asshole is so arrogant he gave himself his own stupid nickname, he’s classless, overrated, and generally a jackass of a human. Wouldn’t expect Ancelotti or Spaletti to launch that kind of attack, but it doesn’t surprise me it came from Jose.

I think Ranieri is a very decent coach. But I think Mo’ labeled his trophy case pretty accurately.
First of all, Mo did win the EPL domestic league, twice I think. I don’t think Ranieri was able to do that once. Also, I believe that Mo won at least one FA cup, which I don’t think Ranieri did. So I will respectfully disagree about how far Mo’ got Chelsea relative to Ranieri.
Mo’ also has a UEFA Cup and CL cup and a Portuguese domestic cup in addition to his winnings in England.
So he has the hardware. If you don’t like him personally and think he’s classless, that would be your opinion and there is little I can say about that.
But I don’t know about overrated. He has the trophies… If he retired right now, he would have done what only a few have done, ever… he’s won 2 different domestic league titles and how many coaches can brag about having a CL trophy? BTW he’s only in his 40s. I don’t think- objectively- that’s too shabby.
As far as what the media created… Mo’ has been successful and quote worthy. In this instance, I think Ranieri started this fight. The Corriere is a Roma paper. It doesn’t shock me that they would jump on the Inter coach for shooting back.

Besides, it is just stupid media-made drama. Both Ranieri and Mou know exactly what they are doing.
The Italian Media put Mourinho up on a pedestal when he came to Italy and now they are having fun knocking him down.
Big deal. Lets play ball.

And because you brought it up, the latest volley:
On the recent exchanges with Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri, Mourinho explained: “It’s simple. Ranieri spoke once and he was happy, then he spoke for a second time and he was happy. He spoke for a third time and he was even happier. I have only spoken once and he got a bit angry. It’s 3-1 to him, but mine was a beautiful goal. No one likes losing 3-1 but it’s fine like this, I accept the defeat. However, I will support Ranieri and Juve in the Champions League qualifier.”http://www.inter.it/aas/news/reader?N=29618&L=en&IDINI=29620

That’s because Ranieri was gently digging at him. Other Italy coaches do it too. Mourinho took it too far, personally and professionally insulting him.
Ranieri has won a Coppa Italia (with Fiorentina, not a “Big 4 team”) and took Chelski to their two best seasons ever, as of that point. He also finished 2nd to the only EPL team to ever go an entire season without losing. Mourinho wouldn’t have won shit without Abrahimovic’s money and Arsenal’s steady decline.

Mourinho is a mercenary he cheases money i want to see him manage a team with a bugjet like fiorentina or napoli he ran from porto the minute chelsea came calling and even taking porto’s best players. and for his cl trophy had chelsea knocked out monaco ranieri’s men would of beaten porto. he won a cl big deal that year was the worst final coming off an all italian final the year before.

Yeah, Ursus, because he’s an asshole. Always has been, always will. Some people think he’s changed now that he left Chelski. He’s still the “Special One.”

And the rest of them are saints.
I just find it highly entertaining, and am quite sure that both Ranieri and Mourinho do as well.
