Udinese v. Juventus: Iaquinta To Start… on the bench

By: roberto | January 28th, 2009

[Also] David Trezeguet is included in the list of players called-up for the away match against Udinese. This is very good and long-awaited news for Juventus supporters. Four months after the operation to both knees the Frenchman is once again available for Mr Ranieri. Together with that of the striker is the return of Giorgio Chiellini (his first call-up of 2009) who recovered from a muscular problem, along with Cristian Molinaro and Momo Sissoko who were suspended for the last match.

Alessandro Del Piero and Cristiano Zanetti will not be going to Udine. In both cases the reason for the missed call-up is a rest as a precaution following the blows received to the right knee of the captain and the right ankle of the midfielder. Manninger, Camoranesi and Tiago, as well as Salihamidzic, Zebina and Knezevic are still absent. Two Primavera players were called up: Ariaudo and goalkeeper Pinsoglio.

We really need some imagination in our midfield. And Nedved can’t play twice a week (I don’t want to say he can’t play every week, but maybe he shouldn’t).

Let’s hope Camoranesi is ready for Chelsea game.

Either our team needs alot of work in the summer or Ranieri needs to get out.

Nedved should never start another game, especially when De Ceglie is fit. When you are down 2-1, the last 10min are not the best time to allow players that haven’t played in over 2 months to find their form. When you’ve had pretty much the same squad for about 2 years and players can’t complete 3 consecutive passes then something is wrong. Our stragety of running down the flanks and crossing to Amauri is getting old and predictable.

Is there a pattern here? The smaller teams of their colour have beaten their bigger team counter parts. Atalanta beat Inter, Udinese beat Juve. We should watch out for Siena…

What happened to our gold kits?

Anyone else hate our blue kits? They are just disgusting and we play like shit with them.

Adam – I hate these too. They don’t looke Juve’ish at all. I like the golden ones, they remind me of victory over Real Madrid.

Yes, they don’t look Juveish to me, because they remind me of French NT kits. I associate Juve with black’n'white, while golden kits are just nice.

Juve havent won the CL in a while. And yes, i think both of Juve’s kits this year look better than both the ones from last year.

And we just had a very bad game today. I think it was a bad idea to leave ADP at home. If anything, Nedved shouldve been left home and had Giovinco take his place. Basically, this is our problem:

    Buffon
    Grygera Mellberg Legrottaglie Molinaro
    Marchionni Marchisio Sissoko Nedved
    Giovinco Amauri

…When it should be like THIS:

    BUFFON
    GRYGERA CHIELLINI LEGROTTAGLIE DE CEGLIE
    CAMORANESI MARCHISIO ZANETTI GIOVINCO
    DEL PIERO AMAURI

(Have Trez alternate with ADP and Amauri, and Nedved with Giovinco.)

For those of us who don’t subscribe to FSC or Telemundo or whatever how are people watching Juve play? I came home early so I could watch the game and was dismayed to find that myp2p.eu is no longer carrying links to serie a, premier league games etc..

I tried Justin.tv and found one terrible broadcast (typical of Justin) and followed a few other dead links in that chat room but couldn’t find much.

Anyone know of any reliable pay sites to watch Juve play on??

Juve can not pass the ball. OMG, how can you call them a good team. Nedved is finished. Yes, he was a great servant but he needs to make way. I saw him tonight, fiorentina’s game and he just can not beat defenders with his speed. Was he this slow??? or does he just appear slow?? Why the hell can’t Ranieri be like Fergerson??? Look at giggs! he plays fantastic right now but he does not play him every game because he wants player like park, feltcher, nani to eventually replace him. My point is that Nedved should not be an starter!! if giggs is not, Nedved shouldn’t be. The logic is simple: giggs and nedved are both old but giggs plays better right now but Nedved shouldn’t be playing more than giggs.

you need to get gaetano d’agostino to replace sissoko hes absolutely shit. one of the worst players in serie a hes useless. he can barely win the ball without giving a foul away and he dives ALL the time its a disgrace. and why he insists on playing molinaro just shows ranieri isnt a world class manager hes the weakest link week in week out. you wont win under ranieri hes never won anything and that is bad for juve as you are a team of winners! he doesnt have the mentality

Ranieri’s lack of managerial skills is also evident from the way he keeps playing Nedved even though Nedved’s abviously getting tired. Molinario’s another matter, although De Ceglie has had some bad games in his position he’s obviously better than him. And Ranieri’s subs are just ineffective.
Sissoko definitely needs to improve. The annoying thing is that he either has amazing games or he plain sucks. He’s still young so I’m hoping he’ll learn and improve with time.
But till then, in view of Trez’s return, and maybe I’m just being stupid here, I think Amauri would do well in Sissoko’s position. He definitely has the speed and physical strength to keep up and he seems tireless. Just a thought…
