Trofeo Tim Tonight

Boom! Get ready for some of the most explosive football this world has ever seen! Bianconeri beware of the intense heat and energy transmitted through your screens as Inter stands to set the tone for your favorite team’s upcoming campaigns. Sorry, my sarcasm never seems to come across too well. But truthfully, the only thing ‘explosive’ here is the latest diarrhoea to come from Intermerda’s head coach. Apparently, Mourinho takes this tournament way too fucking seriously. So seriously in fact, he feels Juve should win for some “belief in light of their forthcoming CL preliminaries”. Someone tell this joke he can keep his 45 minute scrimmages.

That shade of lipstick really does nothing for his eyes.

With stupidity like that I can only pray no one gets hurt. Does anyone out there agree with me that this ‘tournament’ is merely about promoting one telecommunications giant, and has even less to do with Italian football than Mourinho’s cheap tricks?

Back to football. Ranieri likes Rossi and so do I. This kid is one reason why Palladino was sent to Genoa on a co-ownership deal. He’s amazingly good for his age. The kind of talent that makes you want to commit suicide from knowing you already been pissed away your life at 24. In any case, Ranieri called him up again so let’s hope the boy gets a couple bounces his way out there. How about Poulsen? Nice pass, but I still want to see more. Let’s see what happens when Gattuso’s thrown into the mix. Amauri and Iaquinta? Boy they’re making some pretty good arguments for themselves. Ekdal I very much like. Knezevic I do like. Marchionni needs to lose 15 pounds. Finally, Salihams and Nedved are still machines.

Expect to see them all. Amauri, Buffon, Camoranesi, Chiellini, Chimenti, Del Piero, Ekdal, Grygera, Iaquinta, Knezevic, Legrottaglie, Marchionni, Mellberg, Molinaro, Nedved, Poulsen, Salihamidzic, Sissoko, Tiago, Trezeguet, Zebina, Ariaudo, Esposito, Nocchi, and my boy Rossi.

I’ll be keeping my eye on our back-line. Lord knows someone will have to.

IERI… OGGI… DOMANI… SEMPRE JUVE!!!

I have the feeling Tiago wanted to miss the penalty on purpose. That was one weak shot.Shame Amauri got subbed I really wanted to see him play.

Roberto, Rossi has really impressed me in this game and he’s only 17. Did you see him when he took the ball from Maicon after Maicon’s vicious tackle on him. Maicon;s reaction was priceless he couldn’t believe it.

I’m not sure but I do remember him taking corners with his right foot. He’s obviously gonna be loaned out next season.

How do you think he’s gonna fit into our system when he comes back? He played in Nedved’s position and Giovinco will be taking that pretty soon.

Hamburg accepted Madrid’s 10mil offer for Van der Vaart. My guess is that Secco went up to 9.99999999mil and refused to budge, fucking idiot.

Adam, you’re probably right. God knows we couldn’t spill out 3-4million more for Gabriel Milito and had to go with Andrade.

David Trezeguet may have his critics, but Antonio Labbate feels that Juventus just can’t afford to sell him to Barcelona
Every player has his price, but what value would you put on a goal? It’s a question which Juventus may have to ponder in the very near future as the industrious Italian rumour mill continues to insist that Barcelona are interested in signing David Trezeguet.

The Spanish giants, as the story goes, are looking for a bomber after new boss Pep Guardiola – now he knew how to play football – publicly put Samuel Eto’o on the transfer market. While it is openly accepted that Arsenal’s Emmanuel Adebayor was and is their primary target, the former Brescia playmaker seemingly has a soft spot for Trezeguet.

With the Frenchman’s birth certificate confirming that he’ll turn 31 in October, a bid of around £15m, as is being reported, would have to be taken into consideration by the money men in Turin. But it would perhaps be wiser on this occasion to consult the Rouen-native’s scoring statistics because you wouldn’t just be selling a player if you released Trezeguet, you’d be sacrificing a Capocannoniere.

Trezegol’s record speaks for itself. In every Serie A campaign in the Juventus shirt, the former Monaco man has averaged, at worst, a goal in every two games. At his best, he’s gone on the rampage and has bagged 20-plus strikes in three of his seven top-flight campaigns for the Bianconeri so far.

Granted, he’s not the most useful team player in the world and is prone to go missing in action, but there are few better than David in the box. Ignore the opinion of France boss Raymond Domenech who snubbed him for Euro 2008, turn to England Coach Fabio Capello. On his appointment at Juventus in 2004, he immediately vetoed his proposed sale. Not many stood up to the Triade and got their way.

The timing of Barca’s alleged interest also seems very wrong. While the reports snuggly fit into the various Italian sports pages at a time when new boy Amauri is making an impact in pre-season, it would be madness to ponder selling Trezeguet at this stage unless you already have a suitable replacement lined up. The latter seems unlikely under this inexperienced club regime.

Although Trezeguet may be feeling under some pressure following the Brazilian’s gol d’estate – given that it remains to be seen whether they can co-exist – the campaign will be a long one. If the Old Lady seriously want to challenge for major honours this season then they’ll have to put ambition before business, because Trezeguet’s goals have the potential to be priceless.

Selling Trezeguet could single-handedly jeopardize my faith in everything black and white. What he means to this club outside of his obviously successful career here in Turin is almost invaluable.

Forget the idea of “cashing in” on 15 million Euros for a 31 year-old. I see it being much more complicated. You’d be in fact, losing here as his intrinsic value to La Vecchia Signora is worth much, much more.

Trea is not going anywhere, he will be like the Larsson Barca had a few seasons ago. Comes off the bench and scores.

The bad news is he can’t. We’ve seen he’s an anonymous striker that waits for a chance, and probably because of it, he’s not very effective coming off the bench, like Iaquinta. (which kinda sucks for Vincenzo actually)

The good news is he doesn’t rely on speed or strength, he relies on positioning and accuracy. The latter don’t disappear with age as much as the first two do.

    Nothing serious just light hearted.

Come on Roberto, if anything Spain did Italy a favor. If Italy won the Euro’s Donadoni would still be in charge. Just imagine Ambrosini playing in the 2010 world cup.

Plus we got to see Chiellini prove that he is yet again the real deal when it comes to the big games.

The only negative side of Lippi replacing Donadoni is that it rules Lippi out of the Juve job for the next two years. Although Ranieri’s contract also expires in 2010 and I wouldn’t be surprised if Lippi leads us to a Scudetto and Champions League after his second strait World Cup.

dont worry every start to a season will have a common theme, one of the recurring ones is trez will leave juve due to the high cash offered and his inability to do anything other than score and have his critics and halfway through the season his critics will be putting their foot in their mouths and at the end of the season trez will be in the top 3.

im still concerned with our defence, however is it just me or has molinaro improved? i am one of those who wanted him out for this season (no need to state why)

From your lips to God’s ears adam. Lippi is still one of Juve’s heros and I wouldn’t be surprised if he himself has plans to join our side in two years (or more if he decides to go tanning on his boat again).

He does. It’s scary. And as I said on another site, I feel a bit bad for ragging on Molinaro because even if I think he’s inadequate, he plays his heart out, unlike big-money signings like Tiago who seemingly don’t give a shit. Plus, Ranieri gave a big chance to a young defender. A lot of us would be complaining if he sat on the bench for Zebina as “wasted youth.” He has looked sharp in pre-season, let’s hope he’s learned something from last season.

And Sally, yes, this kind of thing with Trez seemingly happens every season along with the Mauro Camoranesi disappearing act.
