PotD: The Return Of Nedved

By: roberto | September 28th, 2009

Pavel Nedved has made a comeback to Juventus, but only for a visit at Vinovo. The former midfielder returned to the club’s training ground for the first time on Monday since leaving at the end of last season.

Nedved wanted to be there to help encourage his former team-mates ahead of the Champions League showdown with Bayern Munich, which takes place in Germany on Wednesday.

‘Furia Ceca’ wasn’t in Turin just for some back slapping, though.

According to Tuttosport, he was there to rub shoulders with the club’s directors, whose offer of a coaching role is still open. The report suggests Nedved considered the proposal while on holiday during the summer, though there is no comment as to what his thinking is.

Yeah, he is. I bet he’s still running 4-5 miles a day. Any chance we can sign him back up? He played great everytime as a center-midfielder and we could use another reserve!

By the way, I like the picture of Nedved+Fabio. Nedved’s probably like, “Hey, remember the time I sacrificed my dream to win the Champion’s League to help out this team even though I’m not from this country?”

wow so much for freedom of speech, I guess the right to be an asshole has more priority than that one, eh alessio?

    To Mickey,

#1- I am sick of every ignorant person claiming “freedom of speech” for everything in this country. It wouldn’t surprise me an uneducated 12-year old wouldn’t understand it, though. This is a private blog, you have zero freedom of speech here, you only have as much as I let you.
#2- Which brings me to point #2. I haven’t figured out how to ban you from this blog yet, WordPress is giving me errors so consider your messages temporarily viewable for 2 hours or so before I edit them. I gave you a warning, but you trolled with plenty of personal insults under a variety of different names. That violates the two big rules here, so once WordPress gets itself sorted out, consider yourself (re) banned.

    neither do I, michelangelo ^^.
about Pavel, I’m pretty sure Secco tossed some ideas to him. The Fury still lives in Turin, I doubt he isn’t going to sign for Juve as a assistant-coach or some similar bench role.

We need to sign him just so he can teach others how to cross… Honestly though, just like every Juve fan, I would absolutely LOVE to see Pavel coach. Not only the first team, but I believe he would be a great teacher/influence for the youngsters. This guy could help turn guys like Fausto Rossi, Iago Falque, heck even Marrone into future studs. Could probably give a tip or 2 to Marchisio and Gio also.

Did Pavel wear that tight ass black shirt just to show off the guns? Dude is still freaking ripped. I would love it if he comes back to Juve as a coach. He could teach the kids so much and my god, imagine if his work rate spilled over to some other players. Unstoppable.

La Stampa, which you should know is Turin’s main newspaper (not sports-only, it’s credible) and owned by the same company as Juventus and FIAT, posted a scathing article today on Amauri, take a read. Google translate might be able to do a good job.

By the way you’ll be interested to note Legrottaglie got a 6.5 by La Stampa for Juve-Bologna, tied with Camoranesi for the best performance. Molinaro was lowest at 4.5.

This is embarrassing (not for us, but for Inter), they drew 1-1 against Rubin Kazan….my respect for this team and its fan, but ummmm, who are they??

apparently they deserve the recognition after holding the so called champions of Italy to a draw…..well done Inter

Will tomorrow’s game be televised? I only see that it will be on at 9pm tomorrow night pacific time on FSC. I would think a game of this caliber would have priority.

The thing about Amauri is that he is too strong, and the other calciatori dismantle in his presence. And the referees always buy their act. If less fouls were pointed towards Amauri, he would score like crazy. At the last few games, every run he does to the ball is a foul, EVERY RUN.
Also looking foward to that CL preview ;)

Daniel, i kinda disagree with you. Amauri is no dribbler at all, even though he likes to think he is. he holds the ball too long trying to do too much. maybe he wants to prove something, which MIGHT be okay, but thats not how a team plays..

    my two cents

@alessio, i knew you were going to say something about the nedved v. cannavaro picture and the zanetti assist before i even got down to the comments, and rightfully so. it kind of hurts inside to see him in purple instead of black and white, he really deserved to stay.
