Non-Preview: Juventus – Milan

By: roberto | December 12th, 2008

Juventus-Milan is always a game which attracts football fans, whether its a friendly such as the Trofeo Berlusconi or much more so if its a competitive game. Sunday night will see the two teams facing each other in what will be a duel for the sole-occupancy of the second place of the Serie A.

The bianconeri are determined and will do their best to pursue the positive streak of results obtained in the last matches, in an attempt to follow Inter as closely as possible so as to be able to spring to the top of the table as soon as the opportunity arises. Just like a bird of prey waiting for the right opportunity to strike, Ranieri’s men will be attempting to reduce the distance that keeps them from their victim.

The match on Sunday will see Juventus having to do without Nicola Legrottaglie who will be forced to miss the big-match following a suspension after having received another yellow card during the match against Lecce. Ranieri on the other hand can once again count on Sissoko who returns after having had to skip the match against Bate Borisov on Wednesday. Milan on their part lost Rino Gattuso due to a cruciate injury which may keep him off the field till the end of the season.

The match between Juventus and Milan at the Olimpico, last season, saw the bianconeri emerge as victors (3-2) following a goal by Del Piero and two others by Salihamidzic. The Bosnian player will be looking to a repeat performance this year if called on by Ranieri.

The statistics with regards to the matches played in Turin are in favour of Juventus: out of 76 encounters the bianconeri won 33, drew 12 and lost 19. The last time Milan managed to beat Juventus was in 2004. But statistics are just numbers and for these numbers to br proven right it is in the hands of Ranieri’s men who are more then well-equipped to add to the number of victories against the devil from Milan.

I don’t know what else can be said about Sunday’s game here guys. All of the chips are down and we’re all in. Remember whatever happens doesn’t change anything about the passion, loyalty, and pride us tifosi have for this club. From the past, to the present, and beyond, we should stand on guard for our Old Lady. Let’s hope this game lives on forever in the hearts and minds of Italian calcio fans accross the world for the right reasons. In closing, I raise my glass to Milan and salute them for what they have accomplished over time and wish them luck. Come Sunday may the best team win.

IERI… OGGI… DOMANI… SEMPRE JUVE!!!

I really hope someone from Chievo breaks Walter Samuel's leg or something! Since he's been back Inter has conceded only one goal! Serie A needs Burdisso back in that line-up!

the best thing to happen in this game that inter lose to chievo or lose two point at least then juve milan match well have less pressure and players will perform better

To be honest I have little faith in Milan right now... I love them with the same passion I always have, but due to our current form, I highly doubt we'll be able to pull 3 points out of this match, i don't even know if we can take 1 from you. I'm hoping the team realizes what a huge game this is and kicks it up a few gears to make for a good game...
    One more thing...
    La Vecchia Signora
    l'ha preso in culo ancora!

(Of course I'm just kidding, like I've said before, I don't mind you Juve tifosi, haha)
