    From Tuttosport-

“There is no escape here,” the ex-Udinese forward admitted in Tuttosport. “Of course, I too would like to be in the starting line-up, but my teammates are all great champions. “However, you will never see me stir up controversies just for the sake of it. Before moving to this club, I knew what I had to expect. And when Trezeguet will return to action, we will have even more fire power.”

Former Palermo star Amauri has made a superb start to life in Turin since moving from Sicily this summer and Iaquinta joked that his problems started then. “I respect the coach’s decisions and I am aware of my strength, but I know there is a high level of competition here,” he continued. “Competition that has increased even more since my good friend Amauri arrived and stole my place in the squad. But all jokes aside, he is a champion in this role and has quickly settled in. And everyone knows the weight of this shirt.”

Grande Iaquinta. We have Giovinco, Marchisio, De Ceglie and him declaring their love for the Bianconero shirt and despite their playing time, all have said they want to stick with the club. Amazing. Even if they did, most players would suggest they’d at least consider a move….none have made any comment of the sort.

juve have a strong future of italiani. thats why they are the team of italia! chiellini is just ridiculous at the minute and it would be good to see santacroce next to him. i also hear you have been linked with juan mata and if this is true he should be bought as soon as you can hes a amazing talent you already have del pieros replacement in giovinco now you need pavels. i dont agree with what ranieri says about seba being pavels replacement hes the best in alexs position

I’d love Santacroce but I don’t see Napoli letting him go. We do have Criscito though, who has been rock solid for Genoa this year.

i see a potential trade for criscito and santacroce as criscito is left footed and plays where chiellini does and of course criscito is napoletano

I don’t think they’ll trade on the basis of right-footedness. Criscito has said in the past his two favorite squads are Genoa and Juve, so I’m not too sure he wants a move back to Napoli.

i remember him saying that the reason he performs well playing for genoa is because genova is close to the sea as is napoli and he stressed that he napolitano. not just because he is left footed but because he cant play when chiellini is playing they play the same position of defence so it would be a wise move if santacroce ever wanted to leave. although i think criscito will move to genoa or someone else

Does anybondy know what happened to Mateo Paro? I’ve just remembered him when I was watching Del Piero’s Serie B goals.

Chiellini and Criscito are both left-footed center-backs, that’s about it. They have very different styles of defending. I’d love to see Mimmo back in the Bianconeri side someday.

Matteo Paro was sold to Genoa, 50% and then this summer we sold the rest of his contract to them. Shame he never got a shot at the Juve Serie A side, I thought he had it in him. Yet another reason why I like Genoa/follow them. Gasperini rebuilt his old Juve youth team there.

Watching that video shows me how much pace he used to have pre-injury, we haven’t really seen that since, but he’s hit a level of consistency right now that it doesn’t really matter. It will probably prolong his career anyways, the fact that he doesn’t rely on pace and is actually kinda slow.

genoa have a quality side though dont they? my point about mimmo is that he wouldnt get playing time because giorgio is going to be at juve for his entire career probably and you cant have two left footed players in defence

Genoa do. I’ve actually been watching a good amount of their games this season because they have so many former Juventini, most of whom I don’t think got a real shot at Juve: Palladino, Sculli, Gasbarroni, Paro, Criscito, Olivera…..etc.

Legrottaglie has at least 2 years in him, so there’s no hurry to find Chiellini’s future CB partnership. He’s Barese like me, so I’ve always been a fan, I am thrilled that he’s found his form I always believed in. A year and a half ago, he was packed for Bestikas. Now he’s pushing his way into the Nazionale.

Oh and let’s not forget their coach, Gian Piero Gasperini who is doing brilliantly with Genoa. Grew up in the Juve youth team, even if he never played for us, and then ended up coaching the Primavera squad for almost a decade. He’s building his team off of his former players and just like him, kids who never really got a chance at Juve.
