Mercato; Co-ownership deals resolved
By: alessio | June 25th, 2009So this is the week when the teams start to resolve co-ownership or exercise contractual options, or else it goes to the envelopes, in which case we hire Moggi as a consultant for the week. Deals resolved thus far this week after the jump.
Domenico Criscito-
GENOA – Genoa Cricket and Football Club announces it has exercised, according to their jurisdictional rights, the option of acquiring rights from the teams Juventus Football Club and Us Città di Palermo for the players Domenico Criscito and Bosko Jankovic
Disappointing Criscito won’t be with us next season, but Secco made a decent deal here. To get co-ownership, he set a pretty high price of 7.5million euros, so Genoa payed a premium for him. It was obvious that we weren’t that interested in him and that he wanted to stay in Genoa, so we get a nice chunk of cash and retain half of his rights. Hope you succeed in Europe next year, and hope to see you back in Turin someday Domenico. (Side note- Mimmo is getting married July 7th, congrats)
Raffaele Palladino- This one was obvious. Our frontline is crammed, and we’re not playing with wingers next season, hence, no room for Palla. Despite a low goal return, partially due to playing wide, Raffaele has done well with Genoa and the two teams agreed to renew his co-ownership for the next season.
Davide Lanzafame- Similar situation to Palladino, in that there’s no space for him at Juve, so Palermo and Juventus have agreed to renew the co-ownership terms for the following season. I hope Palermo gives him a run-out, though I’m not holding my breath, because the kid has some real talent. Maybe we should loan him out to Bari again, now that they are in Serie A.
Andrè Cuneaz- Who, you might say? A young midfielder from the Valle d’Aosta who we signed from a local team two years ago, his co-ownership has been renewed with Mantova of Serie B.
Another two youngsters raised in the Juventus youth sector will not be returning to base. These are goalkeeper Andrea Pozzato who will remain at Canavese after having renewed his contract up to 2012 and midfielder Matteo Cavagna who was transferred to Ravenna permanently.

i believe the shirts were inspired by Notts County and NOT Forrest.
…and to say that “all our history comes from Nottingham Forest in the UK” is a bit insulting. The history of JUVENTUS has more to do than the colors of a kit.

Palla and Lanza are not Juve material. It’s good we didn’t bring them back, besides we have too many players upfront.Secco needs to understand that defense is what wins you trophies.

I believe you are right about Notts County, TeamGREASE…

good things about co-ownership are :
1. You can bought the player again if they already prove their worth and we (desperately) need it.
2. If they’re not needed they can be sold to raise capital.
3. Good way to gain 1st team experience. Co-ownership players usually have better chance of playing time than loaned players.
4. Usually, the players that’s on co-ownership deal have considerably good potential to become good (or great) player.just my 2 cent

Yeah, that was me alex. He’s a good player and has a lot of promise. I don’t think Genoa will want him for next season, still young, I hope he stays at Bari.

Weston, in Italian, a “G” is soft when followed by an i or an e and hard all the other times. A hard g is like “go” while a soft g is like “Germany”. Similarly, a “C” is soft when followed by an i or an e (like check), and hard all the other times (cook).
i is pronounced ee
a is ah
o is oh
u is ooogli is sort of a “yee” noise.
Ok?

oh, and “sci” is she while “sce” is shay.
Probably the hardest thing for English speakers to remember is that “ch” = K, while “Ci” = Chi
There really is no true correlate for “gli” in English.

Rough game for our Azzurrini. Nothing Consigli could do there.

At one point, the Italian announcer said he was like a mosquito. I am sure he meant that in the best possible way.

Soo we are keeping Michele Paolucci at juventus? Are we buying him back to sell him or is he gonna be actually playing for us next season? I know this kid has talent but Juventus quality?

Here’s a list of the other co-ownership situations resolved today, the only player coming back is Michele Paolucci; I don’t know if that’s a temporary thing or if that means he won’t be going to Udinese, but apparently we now fully own him again. I wouldn’t assume he’s part of the first-team plans next season.
Below are all the operations finalized in the last two days in detail.
Matteo Cavagna: will remain at Ravenna.
Andrè Cuneaz: articpation with Mantova renewed.
Lorenzo Del Prete: will remain at Siena.
Tomas Guzman: will remain at Piacenza.
Davide Lanzafame: participation renewed with Palermo
Antonio Mirante: participation renewed with Sampdoria
Michele Paolucci: resolved in favour of Juventus
Andrea Pozzato: participation renewed with Canavese
Giuseppe Rizza: no agreement (to be decided by sealed offers on Monday 29th June)
Rey Volpato: will remain at Bari
Francesco Volpe: participation renewed with Livorno
Marcelo Zalayeta: participation renewed with NapoliPosted from

D’agostino deal off cause Pouslen won’t leave?? Damnit Poulsen. That’s the problem with coming to Italy, once you arrive it’s so amazing you don’t want to leave.

As I’ve said before….D’Agostino should be a priority. He will add a ton to our team. Presumably, we’re getting Grosso on the cheap and though we need a right-back, I don’t see us moving on one. We’ve got the cash, spill it Secco! Rather overpay a bit then end up with Diarra.

Andre Santos anyone? Well, tonight against the U.S. a few Bianconeri will be watching.

Hadn’t seen that, but I’ll be paying more attention today.
D’Agostino deal looks like it’s dead. Udinese wants a significantly larger slice of dough, Ferrara wants all transfers concluded by training camp, and negotiations have ended so I doubt we’ll go in again. Shame, now Secco is probably going to pick up yet another mediocre DM, this time from Africa, or Ledesma who is decent but never convinced me as world-class.
