Mauro Camotherfucker!

By: roberto | June 2nd, 2008

This is just a quick reminder to all you Azzurri heads out there who’s gonna bring home the hardware for us in a month’s time. He’s terribly talented and, in my eyes, still terribly underrated. You heard me, underrated. By our own management even! There we were again, trying to save every penny on the dollar extending his contract after another stellar season last year- disgraceful! I want to apologize to you Mauro on behalf of everyone on earth. You’re the greatest. More info about Italia at the Euro’s after the jump.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Damn, this can’t be good for our chances. Someone tell Chiellini that the tryouts are over for fuck sakes! I hope Canna can bounce back from this ankle scare, I really do. This year’s Euros are looking mighty competitive and to have a player like him out, well shit, thank goodness there’s Gigi!
UPDATE
This whole mess about Cassano pissing on Chiellini for his tackle gives me mixed feelings. On the one hand I don’t blame Antonio for speaking his mind about losing our captain. But on the other I can’t imagine Chiellini should be blamed for something he so obviously wouldn’t do on purpose. Leave it to Paolo to resolve things though. “Chiellini was in pieces. I had to console him since it’s better to have one player missing instead of two”.
p.s. If you open your fucking mouth one more time Antonio I’ll cut your balls off.
IERI… OGGI… DOMANI… SEMPRE JUVE!!!
  • Nope, Buffon IS Italy's captain.
  • agiamba
    This is the only cup he hasn't lifted.
  • adam
    I think that Buffon should be the captain. Del Piero is not gonna be a starter. But it will be nice to see him lift the cup, its been a while since we've seen him do that.
  • agiamba
    Del Piero named captain of Italy. :)
  • Yep Grygera was their best player, and god that game nearly put me to sleep as well. Portugal Turkey was MUCH better! :)
  • Giampiero
    -Sally, you're not alone i also think tiago should be given another season after all it took of Juventus legends time to adjust and they both won the best player of the year while at Juve. of course i'm talking about Nedved(was 27 i think when he arrived) and Platini(28-29ish). Tiago is only 27 and can become a great player here at Juve.
    -Alessio I saw the game and Grygera kicked ass, probably the one of the only thing that kept me from giving up on the czechs, turn off my tv, and take a nap waiting for the next game.
  • agiamba
    Anyone see the Czech Republic-Switzerland game? Grygera was extremely solid, better than Ujfalusi.
  • I know Im alone in this, but Im willing to give him one more season. Im feeding myself this sob story about how Tiago has not settled in properly etc and now he's finally comfortable (hence his improvement in the later part of the season), so if he were to continue on next season he should be more consistent.
    Ah, but Juve'll probably sell him.
  • adam
    Good point Alessio, this season we got we did good, not great. We had the benefit of only focusing on ONE COMPETITION, therefore our squad was well rested and had less chances of getting injured. We had no depth, Camoranesi gets injured and our team is fucked. Tiago it was nice knowing you but its time for you to go.
  • agiamba
    I agree with you both on Tiago, but you can't deny he was awful in the 1st half of the season. Not as bad as Almiron, but still god awful. I was a fan of his signing and wish he succeeded here but I think he's hitting his form too late. Do we want to risk another season of uncertainty?
  • True that. Might be a case of too little too late though since everyone's calling for his head now.
  • adam
    Sally, I agree with you on Tiago. Given the chances at the end of the season he has played very good. Look at the Palermo game, although we lost 3-2, the balance of the game completly shifted once Tiago got onto the pitch.
  • true, he can be a bit too persistent, like with nocerino but im glad in the second half of the season ranieri didn't play noce anymore. i might get slaughtered for this but during that time i thought tiago played better (with whatever chance he got) yet it is always noce who is always selected before tiago, only to end up playing like crap again.
    molinaro must be sold. i like the guy because it's obvious he tries and he was really nice when i met him, but he's just not good enough.
    i like palla better at his original position too.
  • adam
    Look back at this season, players like Palladino and Grygera were very good but they got very little chances. Palladino was sensational in the games against Fiorentina and Parma, but even when Camoranesi and Marchionni were injured Ranieri still favored Nocerino to play over Iaquinta and Palladino on the right flank. The first game against Roma, Iaquinta played on the flank and was man of the match hands down. One thing about Ranieri is that he is patient with players, too patient and that is what i fear will hurt us the most. If a player is given chance after chance and still fails to prove himself than he just isn't made for this team (Molinaro).
  • agiamba
    For sheer entertainment Roma guru Chris- http://roma.theoffside.com/gam... (This is back in September in the game against Roma)
    "It looks like Jorge Andrade is out for the year. God, their defense wasn’t that good to begin with, now they lose their best defender? They’ll be lucky to get a UEFA Cup spot this year."
    Too bad Juve plays more than individuals.
  • i too think if giovinco is good enough, he'll get the chance to play. ranieri's not the kind of coach who won't play you because you're a 'junior'.
    but then again ranieri also started molinaro in every game ... hahaha! though i hope that's because of our defensive setbacks due to injuries and such rather than him actually thinking molinaro's good...
  • adam/alessio i’m of the impression that if giovinco comes to camp next season prepared and ready to play for 90+ mins, he’ll be starting within a few weeks if not from the get go. a lot has to do with ranieri's thinking. so far he seems to be the type of coach to give a player the start based on the effort they put forth in games and practices- alla nocerino over tiago. of course a lot will depend on the personnel available to tinkerbell too.
    let's ship tiago and andrade back to portugal with only one plane seat ticket. they've cost us enough already.
  • agiamba
    depends. from what it seems, they are planning to use giovinco as a left winger, for pavel. so a good amount, but not starter.
    i think xabi alonso has a good potential, and ill disagree that sissoko-zanetti isnt world class. they arent respected as such, but when the duo are on fire they are plenty good.
    the question is, will andrade and tiago be sold?
    2 left backs in the team, one who's very young/inexperienced and the other who is inexperienced and shitty? i sense disaster.
  • adam
    giovinco is good and all but realistically, how often do you think ranieri will start him.
  • dont forget giovinco
  • nice post adam. wouldnt say xabi would be a flop but i would prefer aquilani, but i highly doubt roma will sell them to us (though rumour has it that we're offering them iaquinta and/or marchionni plus cash)
  • adam
    Alessio, i dont think our management will bring in a new leftback other than De Ceglie. So all we can do now is pray that De Ceglie is really good.
  • Sofia
    canna has requested to sit on the bench with the team, does anyone know if this request has been granted???
  • agiamba
    Marco, agreed haha. The only source worse than Goal.com (which often, is actually our friend the Gazzetta) is Tribal Football. Hilarious shit on there.
    TF- "Juventus plans to approach Real Madrid with an offer to swap Legrottaglie for Cannavaro, according to sources."
  • agiamba
    I'm not too worried about the transfer market. Secco is far from a Moggi, but if he listens to Ranieri I think it can be a success.
    If we picked up Xabi Alonso+ Fabio Grosso, we'd be set. The defender I wish we could get the most is Santacroce, but if Napoli rejected 45mil for Hamsik they probably aren't going to part with him.
  • Deb
    I couldn't agree more, adam. What's been kind of bothering me for the past couple weeks or so is the niggling thought that what if Ranieri has been playing Molinaro so much because he actually thinks the kid is good?? He couldn't be that utterly delusional, could he??! It seems to me that our strongest back line over the end of the season would have been Grygera-Legro-Stendardo-Chiellini and instead he kept tossing Molinaro onto the pitch.
    I've actually been starting to think that signing Amauri might actually be a good idea because we're going to need to bang in as many goals as possible in order to make up for the sieve on the back line! The list of quality defenders that have gone to other teams keeps getting depressingly longer, a new winger would indeed be handy and if Molinaro is still in our starting XI, I'm pretty confident that we're going to get creamed at some point next season...
    I hope they don't sell Trez, but with Secco in charge, I doubt anybody is safe. Oh and Camo is of course, simply brilliant. ;)
  • adam
    In my opinion we are reinforcing areas that dont need as much reinforcements as others.******
  • adam
    Trez will stay, honestly i think this transfer campaign will be another big disaster. In my opinion are that we are reinforcing areas that dont need as much reinforcements as others.
    We need to keep palladino. With marchionni most likely leaving, we have no replacment for camoranesi. As we saw this season camoranesi got hurt for long periods and marchioni was only worse. As good as palladino could be as a striker hes way more effective as a winger and now all that needs to be done is for the management to convince him to play that role. The right midfeild role is more important than our central mid. Although sissoko+zanetti is not a world class partnership it can still get us somewhere, unlike juve playing with no right winger. I aslo think that XABI ALONSO WILL BE A FLOP, he is not the right man for juve. the right man for that position is a player like AQUILANI or MONTOLIVO.
    Most importantly the fact that we are persuing targets that shouldnt be on the top of our agenda has cost us 2 very good possible targets in what has clearly been our weakest position this whole season.
    Molinaro has been a complete disaster this season. With the countless errors he has made this season it really is sad to read that the management has faith in him to do good things for juve. These errors could be acceptable against teams in the bottom half of the table, but in the Champions League where every game could be our last, opponents will take advantage of these mistakes. Vargas and the guy I really wanted to join juve, Dossena, are all but signed by Fiorentina and Liverpool.
    And one more thing, Buffon's sub next year should be someone other than Belardi. We need a veteran goalie someone like Toldo.
  • Anyone citing Goal.com as their source deserves to be beaten repeatedly with Tuttosport and be forced to read TribalFootball.com for a month (Clockwork Orange-style).
  • Anthony... it's goal.com. :|
  • agiamba
    They won't sell Trez if he doesn't want to leave. Here's the full interview with Sky: http://www.calciomercato.com/i... "Ho prolungato il rapporto con la società fino al 2011. Spero di poter chiudere la mia carriera con questa maglia."
    We can afford Alonso otherwise. Quaglierella we shouldn't even be looking at.
  • Anthony
    http://www.goal.com/en/Articol... Just proved my point they will sell trez and sign marquez alonso and quagliarella
  • agiamba
    Juventus marksman David Trezeguet has rejected any talk of leaving Turin for Barcelona. “I want to finish my career with the Old Lady.”
  • agiamba
    probably my favorite chant. his stats confirm it.
  • Trezeguet Trezeguet quando gioca segna sempre Trezeguet!
  • agiamba
    I agree. If he decides to leave, it'll happen. I don't know why he would though, we Juventini love him, he's got an amazing friendship+connection with Del Piero, and he will always be a starter!
    Juventus has often been about "the money." After the loyalty Trezeguet showed us, perhaps we should consider repaying him the same.
    I uploaded a Sky video clip of Del Piero's 21 goals this season, no crappy YouTube highlights. Uploaded here.
    http://rapidshare.com/files/12...
    Another video I uploaded, totally worth downloading. Also a Sky Sports video, it's got Trezeguet's 100 goals in Serie A. Terrific video.
    http://rapidshare.de/files/396...
    Enjoy, all my bianconeri friends!
  • I really think it's Trez who will decide this. Word has it Barca's offer is relatively high and is tempting, but I think the board will let him decide.
    Now I know some say this is the last year we could make cash out of Trez, but hear this:
    1. I've been hearing that for the past few years and Trez still bounces back to score even more goals.
    2. We're fighting for cl and serie a this season and after calciopoli this team is still fresh and new, do you really want to risk forming an unfamiliar amauri-del piero partnership now? dp-trez is one of the best in the world and we should stick to it
    the issue here is just the money really, because football's business after all. i also think it depends on how serious we are about xabi since pool is asking for more than we can afford.
  • Anthony
    With out a doubt but one day that will come to an end the whole issue is financial. Trez's ability to score is non negociable when a teampting offer comes in for a large amount what would you do were rebuilding going in to the cl from a 2 year absense. I would only sell to fill up the whole's in our squad if they would sell to by another striker that would just be so dumb but secco has proven that he's a Papagallo with amauri in the picture hes shown he could score palladino iaquinta is probably gone trez cant be on the bench.And we cant put adp on the bench with the form hes in we cant waste it at the age hes at.
  • agiamba
    When watching Milan and Roma this year, how many times were the both unable to just put the ball in the net? A lot. People can criticize Trezegol's technical ability but when you need someone to pound one in, he's our man. He's hit double digits 6/8 years at Juve.
  • agiamba
    Noooooo thanks guys. Trez is 5 months older than Drogba, who is the biggest target this year. Who says he's getting too old? He's easily got 3 elite seasons left in him.
    Trezegol is a Juventus icon like Buffon, Nedved, Camoranesi, and Del Piero. I wouldn't sell any of them, period. We don't need a windfall of cash right now considering we don't even have real targets. Alonso+Grosso are doable with our current financial status, and that will complete our team. No need to sell our all-time foreign capocannoniere and 6th of all time.
