Juventus 2-1 Real Madrid: A Review in Pictures

By: alessio | October 21st, 2008

Anything I could say doesn’t convey the emotions I’m feeling right now. These do:

Preparing for the match. If any of you were wondering what the minute of silence was for (as I was) two Juventus fans were killed in a bus accident on the way to the stadium.

The master at work.

Perfect first touch, perfect power, perfect accuracy.

Someday, his doubters might learn.

This’ll do for now.

This picture is too perfect…

Raul tries the rarely successful donkey-kick challenge.

Will it ever end…..hopefully he’s alright.

GOALLLLLLLLLL #2!!

Casillas….powerless.

Del Piero and Nedved celebrating Amauri’s goal…they’ve been waiting a while for this.

Saluting i tifosi.

Straight beast today, he lives for these big games.

An absolute monster in midfield.

That’s his o-face, ladies.

I haven’t rewatched the goal to see who was culpable on this, but he was left totally unmarked.

Pumped for the win.

Del Piero saluting the tifosi.

Nedved celebrating with the fans.

GRAZIE MILLE, RAGAZZI, FORZA JUVE!

Well Gentile was before my time, so I’ll take your word. What I meant was he reminded me of Canna with his technical ability, his timing and his passion. Where abouts in the UK are you? Will you be watching the derby this Saturday?

MAD, still worried. The crisis isn’t over, but this weekend we’re in the Derby against the Toro, so that’s good. It means we won’t play like we do against relegated squads, sometimes lax. If we win the derby, it’ll give us the confidence perhaps to continue. We’ve got a bit of way to come back but it was a much needed boost.

perhaps, juve. if he can turn us around, soon, then no. i always said i was for the sacking of ranieri only if we can get a very few select coaches to replace him, #1 on my list is deschamps, who coincidentally was at the game and told l’Equipe that he regretted quitting the job.

i still think you should sack Ranieri, but not yet, give him until winter, if hes turned things around a bit, let him buy some new players like Alonso, a left back and a center back and then give him til the end of the season. And unless he is very impressive at the end of the season, sack him and get somebody with more ambition. I think Ranieri is a great coach but only in the long term laying down of foundations, for winning things he is second rate unfortunately.

I’m very dubious on the Deschamps choice alessio, for the same reasons I am doubtful about Antonio Conte. Juve need a more experienced coach. What was the point of sacking DD just to get him back a few years later? Has anything changed since then? Not really…

i hear that juve, milan and inter are after fabregas?! for around 30 million sterling if this is true then juve should go all out to sign him he is going to be best midfielder in the world! and one defender zapata or ivanovic

I agree on Conte, Marco. But Deschamps is an experienced coach, and he’s a young coach. He did very well with Monaco during the era of Lyon, leading them to the CL final. He’s a Juventino al cuore, he knows the team, he has experience with the team, and I think he should have stayed all along. He wasn’t sacked, he quit.

Alessandro, it’s just a rumor. Even if he goes on the market (as I said above, I’d expect him to return to Barcelona) we wouldn’t be able to financially compete with Inter and Milan.

i have a feeling we’ll win vs torino. one because we can’t afford to fuck up once more, two because morale is high.

canna’s face seconds before the final whistle was priceless.

FIAT hasn’t been an important part of Juve since the Avvocato died, Alessandro. We’re operating as a separate unit.

Agreed, Sally. I need to find a screenshot of it.

Anthony, he didn’t play against Madrid because we were playing compact and defensive. I’m sure he’ll get time tomorrow against the Toro.

To think we nearly traded him to you for Barzagli….I was always against the deal though, I never believed in Barzagli. Chiellini, future captain of Juventus and Italy after Buffon. :)

Yeah, to Ranieri’s credit. He vetoed that sale and as we all know, Giovinco’s sale to Palermo. Another wise move…
