He’s Baaaack! Well Almost…

By: roberto | March 26th, 2009

International break time. The injured get healthier, and the healthy, well, hopefully stay that way. For Paolo De Ceglie, it’s a chance to gain some much needed ground on his healthier colleagues before the end of the season. After reporting the injury he picked up during the Coppa Italia match against Napoli almost a month ago, I’m pleased to update you all on his condition.

“The long stop is finally over. Now I have practically two weeks to work in order to recover my best form and therefore I should be available for call-up for the match against Chievo”. Paolo De Ceglie is finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and after nearly two months since the injury suffered against Napoli in the Coppa Italia on the 4th of February, he is ready to get back on the field.

The Under21 international has been training with the rest of the team for a number days now without feeling the effect of the nasty blow suffered in a collision with Gargano which resulted in the fracture of a rib, the injuring of another two and a pneumo-thoraic injury: “It was quite a blow – recalls Paolo – but as soon as the medical staff and the trainers give the go ahead I will not stop to think about it but try to train to the maximum to regain my best form as soon as possible”.

During the last few weeks, Juventus obtained good results and registered five consecutive championship victories: “We must win all the coming matches if we want to keep on fighting for the scudetto – continues De Ceglie – Now a difficult match against Chievo awaits us. Chievo is going through a good time and just like all the teams trying to avoid relegation they will surely give us a hard time. We, however, absolutely want to win the three points”.

In other injury related news, Juventus’ official site detailed a practice Wednesday whereby De Ceglie, Zanetti, Legrottaglie, Ekdal and Camoranesi participated in most of the session with the group, including a mini-match without goalkeepers. Afterwards, Legrottaglie and Ekdal worked separately whilst Camoranesi returned to the gym alongside Salihams and Manninger. Zanetti and De Ceglie went on training with the group carrying out shooting exercises and a mini-match on a reduced field of play.

To add to the number of players on the field a number of Primavera players also trained with the squad- the site read. These were Daud, Alcibiade, Yago and Duravia, as well as Nocchi and Pinsoglio who before the match worked together with Chimenti under Giorgio Pellizzaro (our goalkeeping coach).  BTW, FYI our next match is against Chievo on Sunday, April the 5th.

IERI… OGGI… DOMANI… SEMPRE JUVE!!!

Sam Dj, one more thing. I don’t have to tell you how mixed our camp is about Molinaro do I? Good.

de ceglie should get a decent run of games and he will prove hes the future left back of juventus. he just needs to improve his defending. hes already twice as good as molinaro anyway. and hes shown that he isnt afraid of a tackle either

I’d rather see De Ceglie playing left-wing than left-back. He was terrifying against Milan, tore Zambrotta apart.

Funny, I said the exact same thing about Maxwell a few months ago. Coulda sworn he was an Argie.

yes but wouldnt you want de ceglie at left back still tearing up the left side with an even better more skillful player infront of him? you seriously cant go another season with molinaro as a starter he contributes next to nothing. no assists, goals, always giving the ball away, cant take players on etc etc etc. the man is a dud

    How sick is this:

Juventus is working hard during this period, but fatigue is not felt when the training sessions are taken in the right spirit. Mauro German Camoranesi, for example, at the end of yesterday’s session was the protagonist of a sweet situation with Sebastian Giovinco. Impressed by the magical moves of the Atomic Ant, the world champion exchanged jerseys with the young player to stress his performance. This is a clear sign of the harmony which reigns amongst the squad members:

“The atmosphere is a happy one – confirmed Mauro on Juventus Channel – we are well and we enjoy ourselves during training. The atmosphere however, has always been good notwithstanding the results. Now we are working in preparation of the next match.”

ive never heard that before a player giving another player a shirt in training. what the fuck did he do?!! honestly there are two players in the world right now that i can say will become absolute legends of the game, up there with zidane, maradona, bergkamp: messi and giovinco. both have insane footballing skill, but both of them possess that ability to just raise a teams quality. giovinco needs to play every game he can from now on

Supposedly Tiago and Mellberg both had great international games today.

I guess De Ceglie is better than Maxwell. Juve doesn’t Maxwell or any other left back if Molinaro and De Ceglie can play.

DAMN, I was just looking at the highlights from the juventus 4-2 crushing over AC Milan, and that cross frrom DE CEGLIE TO AMAURI WAS SOO DMAN FRIKIN PINPOINT, FARR OUT HIS PACE AND HIS CROSSING IS PROB HIS BEST ATTRIBUTES AND I WOULD DEF CLASSIFY HIM AS MORE OF A WINGER THAN A WINGBACK.

Alessio this is what Camo said recently,”I hope to be back after the break”. Now if the fucker plays I better be seeing him at 100%. If not, he’d be hurting our first team. This year has gone horribly wrong for Camo. It’s too bad really, but next season will be a fresh start. He’s still got more to give club and country.

Yeah, I hope we don’t play him at 60-70% again. He was just worthless against Chelsea, it was painful.

To finalize on last weeks poll, the majority want to see Tiago+Marchisio up front, narrowly beating out Marchisio-Poulsen. Tiago+Poulsen got about the same amount of votes as “other.” Seems impossible to ignore Iaquinta’s form, as him+Del Piero were the clear choice for our starting duo, with ADP+Trez in 2nd.

    Thanks for voting, all.

Speaking of Tiago, I can’t believe Portugal is in serious trouble of qualifying for the WC2010. Oh well. Glad to see Iaquinta getting some love btw. He deserves every bit of credit he’s getting right now. Hard work pays off kids.
