Regarding what Moggi said, I think the part about letting Zanetti and Marchionni go for bread crumbs is right. Both those players would have made things easier this season. Marchionni could play on the side of the 4-2-3-1, and Zanetti would have added some nice passing ability to the midfield.

And he is right that we over paid for Melo. We could have used a regista more. But still overall I’d say it was a solid mercato. Melo and Diego are both excellent players. Just would have been a hell of a lot better if we hung on to Zanetti and received a decent amount of cash for Marchionni. Also if we signed a RB.

wow, another player injured in a pre-match warm up, this time it was giovinco who was sorely missed today. His last few performances have been quite promising, i was looking forward to seeing him tear up the left wing.

but back to my starting point, another player injured outside of the actual match. the exact same thing happened to iaquinta not long ago! WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON!!! is ferrara making them run up mount everest for the bloody warm up??!! i tell you what, ive made paper planes that have been more durable than these players

Just got home after (another) long day at work. Did not see the game, but just saw the highlights and it looked like Diego was the best player on the pitch. He created a lot of chances and generally looked bright. I like that. I think that he’s been taking a bit too much criticism for our less than stellar performances. To me every time I’ve seen him he’s been at least decent. I still think by the end of the season he’ll be one of the best players in Europe – barring serious injury of course.

Don’t really care too much for the performance at this point, the 3 points are what mattered. Now we are 4 points ahead of Bayern, and with Bordeaux clinching their place in the knockout round with their win today I would expect that they may not go as hard when we meet them on the next matchday. That means the win in France just became more probable. And that means that with a win we qualify with a round to spare and Bayern are out. Great!

I think this time around, it would be better to win the group. It seems like all the big boys are going to win their groups this time around, unlike last year. While you don’t want to be afraid to face anyone, it’s a lot better to face an “easier” team in the 1st knockout round than one of the heavyweights. I would hate to have to face Barca or Man U so early in the competition. I would gladly take Real Madrid though

sorry I disagree..I think the 4231 works well,especially when we have the right players…anyway it is a moot point as we have injured players.tiago still sucked today and if it wasn’t for gigi we would have drawn or worse. Let’s hope some of our guys coming back soon. I m wondering what will happen to the 4312 when diego needs to be rested? He should be against atlanta. Will we continue to draw like we did when he was injured?
