Genoa-Juventus Nonpreview

By: alessio | September 23rd, 2009

Apologies for the lack of posts on my hand recently, thankfully Roberto’s been keeping the blog up and running. Work seems to hit in waves at college, and this week has been brutal. Thankfully, after Friday’s exam I am done, off to happy hour (3 for 1 till 9pm…), and enjoying a 3-day weekend courtesy of the massive Jewish population at my school. So if you’re Jewish, shalom! (Or whatever means thank you)

This will not be the starting lineup…my things have changed.

You all know how important this match is. A fellow CL-contender, a team that plays brilliant attacking football, we have our work cut out for us, that’s for sure. It’s rumored that Ferrara will be changing the formation to counter Genoa’s winged play, and given the space exposed on the flanks in the last few games, a smart decision indeed. I’ll be catching the game live, and depending on how studying is going maybe I’ll do a liveblog. But more likely not. This article hasn’t been translated on Juventus.com into English yet, and I don’t have the time, so try Google translate. It’s “All about Genoa-Juventus.”

GENOA IN CASA E JUVE IN TRASFERTA

I FEDELISSIMI

Forzaaaaaaa ragazzi!!

Moratti must have dug deep into his wallet for these refs.
How can Moggi be banned whil Moratti, ten times the crook, continues to strut and preen like the pompous windbag he is?

defence looks quite ok, midfield to(with having in mind sissoko, diego tiago still must return)
but our attack realy looks awfull. as strikers they do their job good, but as FINISHERS they’re god damn awfull! i predict once more if this doens’t chance it will cost us dearly in europe, as on that level you simply don’t have the luxuary to waste good opportunities

during summermermercato I was the first to say we need to replace trezeguet as the other strikers are good enough en he’s getting old,… but now I’m desperately praying and begiing, trez will get to his old form for at least he’s an excellent finisher! del P+ trez magic please return!!

    exactly mohd!

you really think sissoko is going to be in the starting 11 when tiago is fit? melo has taken his role and can pass, shoot etc 10x better. as for marchisio hes just on fire at the minute. you have a fluid midfield at the minute sissoko will only fuck it up by losing the ball every time its at his feet, or pass it to the opposition

I wouldn’t say the midfield is fluid. Maybe when Tiago and Diego come back the middle would look better.

Once again it is forced to my attention to address that we missed many good oppertunties. Genoa were able to score some great goals from very few oppertunities, whereas we missed some absolute sitters. Our attacking “fowards” those who should possess the skill of having a killer instinct and maximizing their opptertunity in front of the net. I am sorry but we can not compete with the elite of Barcenlona, Real Madrid, Man U, and i again have to mention Inter (i hate Inter) I applaude our fowards effort. I can see that they are working hard to find space, and working hard to find the net – but if it acts like duck, quack likes a duck, it has to be a duck. We are one really fucking good foward away from being the best in the world.

ps. I am happy for Trezq but this shouldnt have even been a constest.

What was the freekick count for genoa today compared to us?

we were robbed im really pissed of, but none the less we came out with at least a point, a loss would have maded me crack a wall.

Marchisio, he is amazing he has absoltly burst onto the scene, and I’m sure by next year, he will be a consistent and one of the worlds finest centre mids, I ABSOLTLY LOVE HIM!

Genoa is quality and class. I was more specifically refering to the game. The game should have been over by the half. Genoa is a great team. We had them, but a lack of finshing (again) ruined our perfect record.

And luck on their side. 2 goals in 3 attempts on target, terrible. And while our defense could maybe have done better on the marking for them, those were great goals.

I am sorry but we can not compete with the elite of Barcenlona, Real Madrid, Man U, and i again have to mention Inter (i hate Inter)

I don’t agree. Real Madrid we’ve beaten 3 times in the last year, and well Barcelona is on another level. When we’re at our best, I’m sure we can edge out anyone and frankly the CL is a lot about luck. I’d rather the Scudetto this year.

LOOOOL I just noticed that when I visit this section of the offside a google toolbar pops up on the top of my screen saying “This page is in Italian. Translate it using Google Toolbar?”

What a coincidence it doesn’t pop up on the inter offside.

    hahahaha….good one Adam

i think against Bologna, if Marchisio isnt injured, he should be rested, im pretty sure Diego should be back, let Camoranesi have some rest with Giovinco filling in
and bench Amauri to start Trezeguet, and if our captain is back, he should at least have 30 mins playing time, let Amauri spectate this game, it might do him some good considering we have a tough champions league game this week…..what the hell is up with this packed schedule?

Its better we have someone like Marrone in the squad instead of Poulsen, who we all know will fuck up during the match. Atleast the kid could learn something!

we didnt play very well today and i think the linesmen got it right today. ferrara leave it too late to bring in the subs and iaq was again a bit wasteful….camoranesi and marchiso were great but i think camo’s age is catching up, he always seems to be tired at the 60-70 minute mark, anyway both of them need a rest

    Lmao. Apparently Maddaloni,

    http://juventus1897.footballclub.ro/images/maddaloni.jpg

who is Ciro’s assistant got a 1 week ban from the field/bench because he “let the game officials have it around the 40th minute of the 2nd half”. Juve received a 5000 Euro fine for this. He is indeed a great man.
