    "See Amauri, last summer."

Was Amauri sought after by some of the biggest clubs in Europe, who can offer a lot more than we could?
  • agiamba
I saw. Hurray late season collapse Livorno!!
  • tom
Bari will be in Serie-A next year.
  • agiamba
Haha, Alessio was my favorite player back at Juve. Couldn't help but think we should kept him instead of letting him to Serie B, instead of wasting money on Almiron at least.
  • Jorid
Alessio was always one of my favorite players at Juve when he played. His mid work, his tackling and his long shots were great. Lol fuck Spalletti, bring Tacchinardi as a new coach, I agree with pretty much 100% of what he said in that interview haha.
  • tom
Norwegian has special terms to express huge gratitude: Tusen Takk (Thousand of Thank You, Alessio).

and boy, every single word he mentioned was spot on. except about De Ceglie and Brazzo.

Thanks again Alessio. I hope you enjoy it.
  • agiamba
You will indeed like it, Tom.

Here's my translation. Not perfect, but so it goes.

[Alessio Tacchinardi, 11 seasons in black-and-white, with Juve he won everything from 1994-2005; 6 scudetti, 1 Champions League, 1 International Cup, 1 Uefa Cup, 4 Suppercoppe Italiane and 1 Coppa Italia]

[The ex-black-and-white midfielder told everything to the microphones of the show "Soccer Time" (IES TV, interview in full tonight at 21) and came out talking about the problems affecting the Old Lady, heavily pointing his finger at Cobolli Gigli, Blanc, and Secco, a management in his opinion is not at Juventus' height. «It's their fault...in modern football you don't invent anything, they threw away millions of euros in 3 years buying players that didn't leave a mark: Almiron, Tiago, Andrade, Poulsen, De Ceglie, Grygera, Salihamdizic, Marchionni, and many others....apart from Sissoko and Amauri they threw it all away in a sack of money.»]

[-Piling it on: «I had the luck to work with a competent mangement (Moggi and Giraudo). Before leaving Juventus, I returned from Spain, and with the new entourage in one week of training, no one asked me or told me anything, I was looked at like a guy from the old triade and they threw me out the door.»]

-[On his friend Buffon: «Seeing the frustration of Buffon hurt me bad, a dagger to the heart.»]

-[Tacchinardi has something to say about everyone, also for Cannavaro, ready to wear black-and-white again: «Another screw-up from the management: 36 years old, someone who ran off to avoid going to Serie B and now is returning because it'll make him comfortable.....so let's also get Zambortta, Emerson, and Capello...»]

-[About a new coach: «Spalletti? I hope they don't mess up again, Conte or Vialli are the right men. We should take the example of Milan: Only those who have worn the jersey and demonstrated that sense of membership of the colors should coach the team.»]

-[On Moggi: «I will always be greatful to him, a great "conosseur" of football that never messed up a signing, the last being Ibra...seeing him in Inter's jersey hurts me, without him the Nerazzurri would have 30 less points.»

-[On Secco: «A nice guy, but seeing him as the Sporting Director, honestly...the responsibility of this situation is also his.»]

-[On the match with Milan: «Juve cannot win, and I think Juve will finish 4th.»]

That's been a rumor for a while, adam. (Cobolli's contract does expire then) No one really knows for sure.

Roberto, I think his wages and his injuries probably are too much for him to be a backup.
  • I don't mind Zebina really. I think he makes for a good back up.
  • adam
I read somewhere that Coboli's contract is going to expire in 2 months. Is it true that Lapo Elkann is going to be our new president?
  • agiamba
Toulalan is a good player, and I'd actually like to see him at Juventus.

The fact that “negotiations” have been going on so long, I have a feeling that we won’t be getting him.

    See Amauri, last summer.

    http://www.channel4.com/sport/...

Ahhhhhhh I love Channel4. Is there a single Juventino that actually likes this guy?
  • Sam
i wouldnt mind toulana at all to be honest, he is a complete Mid, but we already have to many of his kind and to pretty much confirm it, i reckon its now a done deal! Im not particularly happy bout it though!

    http://www.goal.com/en/news/11...
  • Nnahoj
Sam, I wouldn't be so sure. The fact that "negotiations" have been going on so long, I have a feeling that we won't be getting him. Some club that actually knows what they're doing will come in and swoop him from under our nose, and we'll end up signing Abou Diaby or Jeremy Toulalan for 20 million, and they'll be touted as the "solution" to our midfield problems.
  • Sam
Mister president says "Diego? We are following him and we are going ahead with the negotiations which we hope to conclude but the deal is not yet concluded" I reckon hes gonan be comin, now for giovicno wtf, i duuno why we are gettin diego, hes gud but not out kind we need to change formation now.
  • sissoko man love
Is Giovinco preferred as a left winger or a striker? I was never sure...Heard him being referred to as Nedved's heir, as well as Del Piero's, but maybe they just meant Del Piero's in the sense that he'd play there his whole career and be the captain and all that jazz.
  • Ranjeet
Milan's debt increased from 30 to 60 million, coz of missing the CL.
  • MAD
"the 2 best club teams in the world this season are playing eachother in the final of course its about which team is better thats the whole point!"

It may have happened this season. But there have been quite a few seasons where the top two teams playing in the final **weren't** the best teams in the tournament (Liverpool - Istanbul version, Porto and Dortmund come to mind immediately.) I have seen these games, I don't need the marketing to tell me what I am watching...

"barcelona arent actually in that much debt either and coming from an inter fan whos team relies on havng 30+ players in a team you dont half talk some shit"

You are right. I don't half talk shit. I don't talk shit at all.

Barca has debt. Not ManU debt, but they owe plenty.

And Inter don't have 30+ players. As of right now, according to Inter.it, they have 27, exactly 1 more than Juventus, according to Juventus.it.
  • Jorid
Mad, I understand your viewpoint but like Alessio said I don't necessarily agree with it. But HOW IN THE HELL can you talk about teams being in debt when Moratti has had to pull out millions and millions from his own pocket to help cover the debts your dear team has had. Of course they are not like those of Real or ManU, but it's still something to think about.I found these numbers online, not sure on accuracy but sound about right from knowing the Serie A, its main teams and their activities in the last few years:
    1. INTER (-207 mln)
    2. MILAN (-66,8 mln)
    3. JUVE (-20 mln)
  • KJ
I would bet the house you don't beat Milan..The players are gonna lay down and send Mr. Ranieri packing
  • Armando
Del Piero and Trezeguet are not done. They both still have years ahead of them. Inzaghi is a perfect example of this. And ADP was only in "good, not great" form in the first half of the season, pre-Xmas? I completely disagree. He was in INCREDIBLE form in the first half of the season. Single-handedly took down Real Madrid, was scoring some of the most beautiful free kicks you'll ever see, and overall formed one of the most feared attacking partnerships in the world with Amauri, and THE most feared in Serie A bar none, etc. And he's still not in horrible form, he's still producing, whether it's assists or goals, but yea he is doing bad, not nearly what he was in the first half of the season. And Trezeguet hasnt had enough time to show what he can do, since coming back from injury months ago he's played how many games? Less than 10 probably, and started less than 5. He's getting the same bad treatment as Giovinco.

And considering Juve was the better team against Chelsea throughout both legs, even if we didnt walk away the winners, i dont think we would need any signings to be able to beat Chelsea. Win the Champions League maybe, such as beating Manchester United or Barcelona, but i think we could beat Chelsea if we had less injuries to cope with and were on a better run of form.

And like i said before, we should start using a 4-1-3-2. It would suit Juve well in my opinion. And by the way, i have a feeling we're gonna beat Milan. Again.
  • adam
Alessio, Bremen's third goal was a result of a corner kick. That corner kick was a result of the ball rolling onto a plastic bottle causing the ball to unexpectedly jump resulting in the Hamburg defender conceding a corner as he tried to clear the ball.

If it wasen't for that plastic bottle then Bremen would have not gone through to the final.
  • Armando
I have an idea. I'm thinking a 4-3-3 might actually work well against Milan if Juve use it correctly, aka Barca-style. Put ADP and Giovinco on the wings, with Amauri in the center. ADP and Giovinco are both versatile players (though Amauri is pretty versatile too), and are both capable of playing in those positions. It would be an attacking formation very similar to Barcelona's, which i think would work. Even if you put ADP in the middle and Amauri on one of the ends, it would still work, as Amauri is also good on the wing. I'm talking like this:

    Buffon
    Grygera Legrottaglie Chiellini De Ceglie
    Camoranesi Marchisio Nedved
    Del Piero Amauri Giovinco

And i think either way, Juve's gonna pull out a win here. One thing i've noticed is that even when we're in bad form, we still do decent, if not great, against big teams. Chelsea and Inter are great examples of this.

And by the way, next year i would go with a 4-1-3-2, like this:

    Buffon
    Grygera Legrottaglie Chiellini De Ceglie
    Sissoko
    Camoranesi Marchisio Giovinco
    Del Piero Amauri

This is assuming we dont buy anyone, since nothing is confirmed just yet. Although spending money on some quality players would obviously help.
  • agiamba
And I can kind of see what MAD is driving at, even if I don't agree. Barcelona does have a bit of debt, not anywhere as massive as Real or ManYoo's though.

Nice to hear, but I'm not convinced he's bianconero al cuore.
  • agiamba
Nah, Alex, you're ignoring all the assists and through balls he's been putting in.

Finally, assuming Diego is nothing but certain, this is what I really dont get. Why dont we find coach first, and then focus on transfer matter? What if Diego doesnt fit the tactic of future Juventus’ coach?

Hear fucking hear. Conte does not play trequarista, and I doubt he'll change from his preferred formations. What would be the point? Sort out the coaching situation, if you're going to make a signing like this. If it's a winger, then go for it because wingers pretty much apply in every normal formation.
  • alex
im telling you a 4-2-3-1 with giovinco-diego-camoranesi with iaquinta upfront would be lethal. get spaletti involved with the financial backing of your board he could win and win in style. hes taken roma as far as they can go, they have peaked and have to start over again
  • alex
"he’s still been producing up front, but assists, not goals."

has he? hes turned into a ball greedy bastard!
  • tom
Alessio, Alex, Adam, I just checked tuttosport. yes, it is full of gossip. but they have gone too far. they welcome diego by presenting his video compilation.

    On striker:
I think we have too many strikers. If one should go, that should be Amauri.

Del Piero is greedy? I am afraid that I must concur. Even Zamparini has the same opinion (couldnt get the link, sorry). He will demand more time to play next year (and might become gredier) because of world cup

Yes, Trez is like Inzaghi. I respect him so much, mainly because of his decision to go to Serie-B with us. But Inzaghi never complains when he is not fielded. You can see that Trez agent is now talking too much, complaining about his client playing time.

Finally, assuming Diego is nothing but certain, this is what I really dont get. Why dont we find coach first, and then focus on transfer matter? What if Diego doesnt fit the tactic of future Juventus' coach?
  • alex
"It’s not even a measure of which team is better, just which one is willing to go into debt enough to put together a team that’s three deep at each position."

the 2 best club teams in the world this season are playing eachother in the final of course its about which team is better thats the whole point! barcelona arent actually in that much debt either and coming from an inter fan whos team relies on havng 30+ players in a team you dont half talk some shit

every football fan ive ever conversed with loves the champions league, its the best trophy you can win?!
  • MAD
"how can any self respecting fan not care for the champions league?!"

Easy. I just think for myself and don't necessarily believe the hype. Besides most of the games are so defensive, the games themselves suck.

It's not even a measure of which team is better, just which one is willing to go into debt enough to put together a team that's three deep at each position.

And it doesn't bring anything to my team that we don't already have.
  • agiamba
While Del Piero hasn't been in the form of the first half of the season, he's still been producing up front, but assists, not goals. He's in mediocre form, yes, but I'm not sure how 4 months or so from going from Ballon d'Or winning form to average means he's done. Trezeguet hasn't had any time to run out this season, his talent is like Inzaghi's, it does not respect age. He had double knee surgery and has barely played since getting back in the game. What do you expect from him?
  • agiamba
A midfield of Diego, Sissoko, and Marchisio would get overrun. If you're playing a 3-man midfield, you can't have one of them being a trequartista.

What happened with the plastic bottle? I didn't watch the game.
  • adam
Bremen look like there in the final thanks to the help of a plastic bottle, crazy shit.

    Diego will be suspended though.
  • alex
"As much as I don’t care for the tournament itself"

how can any self respecting fan not care for the champions league?! the biggest prize in european club football! only an inter fan can say that because they will never win it.

    diego is a brilliant player
  • MAD
I am not *suddenly* worried about Serie A's prestige in the Champions League. I am *always* worried about Serie A's standing in Europe.

As much as I don't care for the tournament itself, I understand the necessity of having good teams in it to draw players to the league in general and Inter in particular.

And besides, just because things are going well now for us, it's not like I can't see a time when we might need to use that fourth place for ourselves.

It's one of the reasons I always root for the Italian teams during the UEFA cup or the CL. Any Italian team doing well boosts our buying power club-wise.
  • adam
Anyone watching Bremen? Diego just scored a nice goal.
  • adam
If we get Diego I think we should switch to a 4-3-3 formation. A midfield of Diego, Sissoko, and Marchisio behind Giovinco on the left, Del Piero on the right and Amauri in the center would be amazing to watch. But that won't happen until we get rid of Ranieri.
  • alex
we are not talking about last season are we? del piero was hungry last season to prove everyone wrong after calciopoli. the first half of this season he was good, not great, but the second half of the season he has been terrible. trezeguet has been injured and has looked shit even when hes played. both of them are nearly mid 30s and are finished.
  • agiamba
Put into fourth would kind of suck, but I don't see us missing out entirely. That would require Fiorentina and Genoa to be damn-near perfect and us to continue being absolute shit. Which is possible, but I think we can at least get 4 points in the last 4 rounds. I've got a soft spot for Genoa seeing as it's Juventus#2, which is why I don't want to see it in the Champion's League next year. There's not enough depth or class in the team, a strong united team, but injuries and exhaustion would wreck it. I'm not sure why you're suddenly concerned about Serie A's prestige in Europe, though.

I think that you need a couple more summer transfers to beat us in the long run through the Championship, though.

2-3 key signings and a new coach. I would agree.
