Felipe Melo; MAI ALLA JUVE!

By: alessio | July 6th, 2009

Stankovic’s past slurs against Juventus have been quoted, including when he celebrated Inter’s Scudetto victory by declaring that “we win without stealing”, referring clearly to the Bianconeri’s alleged role in the Calciopoli crisis.

And hence rioting in Turin.

“Juventus are stronger than Milan and it will be hard for us. If we play like we did against Milan, and if the ref does his job well, then we will beat Juve.”

Where’s the rioting?

“Felipe is in love with Florence, but should the Juventus officials reach an agreement with Fiorentina, he would be happy with such a move,” the agent declared.

Go f*** yourself.

If Stankovic’s transfer was vetoed for trash talking our beloved Old Lady, I don’t see why we’d welcome Melo with open arms. Melo’s a good player but one who will limit Marchisio’s development as a complete central-midfielder, and he’s an asshole on and off the pitch. Amauri has been humble, patient, and unselfish since he’s joined Juve. Diego looks to be similar. Melo is everything I dislike about Brazilians; uncontrollable temper, arrogant, and Cassanata. No thanks. If we can’t get a decent regista, forget a midfielder and start working on the defense.

What are your opinions?

I don´t get it… Spending that much money on Melo, but not willing to spend 17 million on D´Agostino…??!! WTF. Secco! I much rather have D´Agostino ´cause of his love for the club, and he is an italian player! Would love to se an almost all italian juve!

Stankovic and Melo – you really cannot compare what the two said. What Stankovic said was insulting to us tifosi. We were down, relegated, and depressed for no fault of ours or the players – and Stankovic hit us when we were down. Melo, on the other hand, had a legitimate worry. If you remember last season, Fiorentina did get some really bad decisions going against them. Melo was not insinuating at Calciopoli as much as he was insinuating at the bad refereeing during the previous Fiorentina game (against Milan).

I welcome Melo with open arms.

@ Thomas: That’s what makes me absolutely sure that Udinese were asking for more than cash. It is obvious now that they wanted co-ownerships of Giovinco and/or Marchisio, which is insane. It is clear we have the cash, and we would have spent around 18m on D’Agostino.

I completely agree with Rinaldo (regarding Melo comments not being that bad). I was thinking exactly the same but I was kinda lazy to explain it in here.

I don’t think Camoranesi can play as a regista. Firstly, he won’t stay fit. Secondly, he likes to run a lot with the ball and tends to go to the right, and we needed a center deep lying midfielder (which I have my doubts Melo is). If we end up signing Melo instead of D’Ago (I’d prefer otherwise, but it could be worse), I think we should play Sissoko in the middle and Marchisio and Melo flanking him. And Ferrara will have to sit with Momo and explain him why his role will be solely recovering balls and then pass the ball to the closer midfielder (5 m away top). That will be challenge for next season, not wining the scudetto or CL (those are easy), but make Sissoko understand he is a really good player… when he is not passing the ball.

According to the Gazzetta and Goal.com it’s Marchisio.

God I’m starting to hate this season.

That’s what makes me absolutely sure that Udinese were asking for more than cash.

They were asking for about 16million euros. We didn’t offer more than 10. Instead, we’re paying about 26-28mil for Melo. Can anyone see the logic here?

if you had diego and giovinco buzzing around a main striker then a midfield of melo, sissoko and marchisio could work

I agree with the commentors above. I didn’t think too much of Melo’s comments; whereas, the Stankovic ones had some real venom towards the club and the tifosi.

On another note, did you guys see the new kits for this year? I like the new away one. A VAST improvement over last year’s gold one’s.

Not a big fan of the new kits…Nike never makes a bad one, but none of them are great either. The only one I’ve really liked the last few years were the red-green Italia ones (http://newsimg.bbc.co.uk/media/images/44298000/jpg/_44298682_capello_juve2.jpg) and the gold ones from this season.

By the way, I love all the juve jerseys on ebay already. Several of them (Cannavaro-29, Diego-8) have the wrong number!

I love that red/green kit that Nike made. I still wear mine a lot. I like the gray w/ the diagonal slash. And yeah, it’s pretty funny how many are already on e-Bay.

Well, Juve have their man. Arsenal might have to take a look at ebay at this rate.

Ah but they do have Arshavin, how the other “big four” missed out on him I’ll never know. He has been electrifying in his first season.

I think that the new away kit is pretty cool. Even if you don’t care for it, just be glad it’s not Lazio’s.

Hasn’t been said, but I assume the gold kits will be used as the 3rd kit just as the blue Turin kit was used as this year’s 3rd.

    New post up.

Melo is a physically strong player. But we needed someone with technique like D’Ago. Can’t imagine Juve cd not just pay the asked price. See Udine increased their price when Madrid got in the frame. I have a feeling there was more to it than the cash. How can you expect us to part with with promising players like Marchisio(Tarcchinardi), Giovinco(ADP) and De Ceglie(lol).
