David Trezeguet e’ tutto bianconero
By: alessio | July 9th, 2008“Domenech is staying and I am quitting the national side,” Trezeguet said at Juve’s pre-season training camp in Pinzolo. “The awful European Championship and then the decision to stick with the Coach has forced me to this decision. I see football differently to how they see it in France. Euro 2008 was very negative, but it was the faith in Domenech that really annoyed me. Decisions seemed to be made politically rather than for footballing reasons and the public opinion in my favour wasn’t respected.”
As an Azzurri tifoso, I am thankful that our archrivals have been robbed of one of their best talents through their own stupidity. A player with a roughly 1:2 goal:game ratio for both club and country and 20 goals in the current season was ignored for the likes of Gomis and the most overrated player in the world, Anelka.
As a huge fan of David Trezeguet, I cannot help but feel sorry for him. It is a premature ending to his international career that never earned enough respect, by Domenech or the other French coaches. It is a huge shame for a supporter of football, but this means Trezeguet has dumped his blue jersey solely for the black-and-white.

A busy summer in the transfer market has James Horncastle sure in the belief Juventus will not be playing second fiddle to Inter this season

I feel very sorry for Trez.
He has done so much for France. Better then Gomis.
How the hell do you play Gomis instead of the Tried and Tested brilliance of Trezegol.
I predict that he will be the top scorer in Series A next season and RayRay will call him up and he will refuse.Posted from

It is good to see France doesn’t have him as a weapon of attack anymore, and now he will be completely focused for the upcoming season. France will miss that big grin of his everytime he puts one into the back of the net.

Let me ask you this Alessio…
Of all the players that Juve has brought on board for this season, how many do you think will find the first team, understanding that the first team is about sixteen players given injury, match fitness or coppe play.
In other words, this transfer season, did Juve buy depth, which is important don’t get me wrong, or did they buy a significant step up. I don’t think I can tell, so i’ll be interested in your opinion.

I think most of the new additions will find the first team, but as of now Amauri is the only “stepup” we bought. I thought the above article was interesting but I’m not sure I agree. I think our defensive work was great, we now have Andrade, Mellberg, and Knezevic, all for free. Our midfield is less definitive, it’ll all depend on the following weeks. Almiron should go, I’m ok for keeping Tiago and giving him another shot.

Best of all, David is truly “sempre Juventino.” Despite Guardiola desperately wanting him, he’s officially said no. Trezeguet has been heavily linked with a move to Barca over the past month or so, and the striker is said to be high up on new coach Josep Guardiola’s summer shopping list. “It is obvious that it is nice for any player to know he is wanted by a team like Barcelona, with Guardiola as coach, and with players like Messi or Puyol,” said Trezeguet, who then added that he currently feels very settled and that there is nothing at Barca for Juve to “envy”.

a question to Alessio: just want to ask you
how wud u rate ibrahimovich at juventus?
did he worth all the hypes he got??
personally, i never ever in a juventus game expected him to do it for juventus like i do for nedved or trezeguet?? i even think he neverd deserve a start but capello din think so??Posted from

Great news for Juve. France lose another big game player (whose admittedly starting to get up there) but between him, ADP, Iaquinta, Giovinco and Amauri… as a Roma fan I’m a bit scared of Juve’s firepower

I think Amauri is all talk – well, 90% talk/ego and 10% hair (Nedved, look out). Maybe it is because the guy is so gosh-darn unlikable, but I think he will sink like a stone at Juve. I hope Iaquinta (who I like quite a bit – jersey aside) crushes him. Definitely, next season’s Tiago.

Alessio, what do you think about this Christian Poulsen that is rumored to be our new target for the midfield? Apparently they talked down the transfer price and his salary quite a bit from his agent’s original asking.

Ibra was great at Juve, no doubt about that. He was a big game choker, as he still is though. Amauri’s play is very similar. He’s a tall strong guy who can dribble, and shoot. I was opposed to his transfer because I was worried we’d end up without a real midfielder, which kinda looks like it’s happening, but he is top-class. Better than Ibra. And if the game against us is anything to go by, he’s not a big-game choker. Those two goals he scored were absolute stunners.
Poulsen is an asshole. I’ll take him if he’s cheap and he’s 2nd-string to Sissoko. The last thing I want is a Poulsen-Sissoko center-mid partnership. If we could get him and a passing-minded player (Tiago renaissance, anyone?) then I’d be satisfied with our midfield.
Sell Almiron.

Anyone know where we can watch the preseason match tomorrow? Hopefully can find a stream online somewhere for it.

Calisi, the game is going to be shown live on Juventus channel. I couldn’t find a channel that will broadcast it in any other country. If I do find a link I will be sure to share it with you guys here.

Looks like Alonso will not be joining Juve. I agree with you 100% Alessio if we’re not going after anyone amzing, lets just see what Tiago and Marchisio can do. Going after Poulsen, who Ranieri referred to as becoming “our Ambrosini” doesn’t say much when you look at Ambrosini because no one wants an Ambrosini. Poulsen is a cunt and a prick with very little if any improvement to offer our squad. Secco seemed to of been improving from last year but if this transfer goes through you have to hold Gigli and Blanc responsible, they should of taken care of Secco along time ago.
Dessena also signed for Samp.

yeah, if anyone can post a link to a streaming broadcast of the friendly, that would be greatly appreciated.
too bad juventus.com membership doesn’t offer a video stream, or does it?

I believe Domenech has been given 3 games to get France turned around. If (when) he fails at that, they’ll bring in someone else who will probably have some brains and will ask for Trez to come back. I can’t help but think this is what David is hoping for.

Yeah, Amauri isn’t a choker..He scored some of his best goals against the top clubs…I’ll never forget Buffon’s face after the goal he scored against you guys

Unfortunately guys, I can’t find any streams, it’s on JuventusChannel but not JuventusMember….why don’t they stream there? It’d be a huge advantage and like against Mezzocorona, I doubt anyone else has the TV rights.

It is really sad that Trezegol had to end his international career prematurely.
