Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement with Juventus to loan Tiago until the end of the season. Negotiations have been taking place since last week and looked to have stalled when the Portuguese midfielder balked at taking a pay cut.

Any creases have now been ironed out and Atletico will formally unveil the 28-year-old former Chelsea and Lyon star on Monday morning. Included in the deal is a right-to-buy, which Atletico are expected to exercise at the end of the current campaign.

Just a few weeks into the job, and Bettega has gotten rid of Molinaro and Tiago. I am officially excited for this summers mercato, provided we have any money.

Comrade - yeah I know... I have been but now its just annoying and childish
  • Thiago looks like he has at least 15, 20 pounds on Rashad.
  • This is going to sound so wrong, but Ekdal plays a little like Tiago and Poulsen mixed into one. But he's got more potential in every category I think. Plus he's actually consistent. Bringing him back with Criscito could do us well.

the palladino deal seems like a mistake, looking at the current mediocrity state of the squad...anyway giovinco's out, and i got to agree, he's not playing either way
  • Robee
If that means he's going to sell all our problem childs... Zebina, Grosso, Poulsen, Amauri, (Moli, Tiago) then it's fine by me :). We sold Palladino 100% in the Criscito deal if I'm not mistaking, so again an epic fail... Lanzafame and Palladino could do great in a 4-2-3-1 and Criscito is just world-class. I didn't see Ekdal play that often, anyone some more info on him ?

according to tuttosport, it seems that the next strategy of Bettega is to call back the juve youngsters. lanzafame, ekdal, criscito, palladino are the first few.

whether or not bettega can convince their current club, we'll wait and see.

    forza juve.

Giovinco is out for 3 weeks, shit... Not that it would change anything since he's not been playing at all. It just gives Ferrara another excuse.

And the rumours about Lanzafame could actually be a good thing if that's Ferrara thinking: hey I need someone who can play on the wings to keep my 4-2-3-1 going... But that's probably too optimistic.

@Sofia: The best way to deal with trolls is to ignore them.

Maybe I'm walking into a trap here, but how is Tiago leaving good for Serie A?
  • j
looking forward to the next exits and arrivals, in bettega we trust!
  • alex w
round of applause. tiago gone is good for serie a.
  • Zafar
Honestly Atletico Madrid is still a big club for him. He doesn't deserve it. Finally I can see a tiny light at the end of our tunnel.
Getting rid of trash is a good feeling but I'm not hearing anything about purchases, not even links. Is our mercado closed for winter?
  • Gaetano
Gio is injured. What kind of thugs are running the training ground. Everyone is f@cking injured! Guess ferrara will not be blamed for not playing Gio this time around. Brazil needs to step up big time sunday And i m not talking about ronaldinho.
  • Sofia
ok seriously I have ignored these stupid messages from Matteo for a while now, but honestly buddy you need to grow up and get a life! Learn to spell, and go back to which ever planet you fell off of because your little words of encouragement are really getting annoying. I won't say anything more, so please get out.
  • Matteo

exept......dont lik penout butter of a telly tubys foot..or els juve will go to seriaC2

I really do not understand why Ciro continues to refuse to play Gio and yet Amauri starts?! Sorry, I have the utmost respect for Ciro and he did amazing things when he played for Juve and I have been a supporter of his as coach, but I really don't know how much longer I can defend some of his choices. I really hope ADP and Gio get a start against Milan because lord knows Amauri doesn't deserve one...
  • Comrade
Vinod - even with Tiago we had no midfielder who was capable of distributing the ball. Next to go should be Zebina.
  • Sam
Great to have Bettega back hes teaching everyone around him a thing or two
  • Gaetano
True alessio. I understand what vinod is saying but i think the plan is in tne works. Be nice to see dagostino as he was really keen to come this past summer. Does anyone know about lanzafame? We will need someone As trez is injured. Is gio injured? I haven t seen reports. Half the time i think they make these things up.
  • agiamba
Tiago has sucked balls for the last 2 1/2 years. Bout time he's out of here, Zanetti was excellent at Juve, Tiago never was.
  • Vinod
At the risk of sounding overly excited, I have to go against all of you and say that this was another bad move. First you get rid of Zanetti over the summer, now you get rid of Tiago, and you are left with absolutely no midfielders who are capable of distributing the ball. Stick with Melo as regista and see where it gets you.

Unless you sign D'Agostino or Ledesma this January, y'all better be very very worried.
  • Jose
@Gaetano I just read that Giovinco may be injured for the Milan game

@Vince, I think loaning Giovinco might be the greatest thing Bettega can do, unless we change to a coach that is interested in playing Gio (which won't happen with Hiddink). Maybe we can give money and Gio to Bari for Rannochia, or a lot of money + Giovinco loan to Udinese in exchange for D'Agostino. I completely agree with you Vince
  • agiamba
I agree with you 100% Vince...Gio needs to leave for his sakes. Send him to Bari, he could play on the wing there, I'd even be ok with selling him on co-ownership to a club. He needs to play every game.
  • Vince
Finally, someone else can pick up his paychecks for a few months....

Now please don't crucify me for this, but can Gio be next on the list of loaned out players. For the love of beautiful football, this kid needs to be on the team sheet somewhere every week... and it just isn't happening.

Don't get me wrong my first love will always be Juve, but I have been pulling for this guy for so long and its painful seeing him sit in his track suit each game. I need to see him on the field... Bari maybe? And I did say loan of course, which means we would bring him back... of course only after he probably scores a wonder-goal against us and lights up the rest Serie A. That would be just our luck.... but it's something I am willing to stomach just to see him get the time his skills deserve.
  • God let's hope he doesn't stink it up in Madrid purposely so he can come back to Juventus next season.
  • Gaetano
We re do for another victory. Hope its sunday. Maybe ferrara was waiting for this game to play adp and gio. Doubt it though. Everyone needs to step up!
  • Jose
I couldn't be happier. Tiago and Mollinaro are gone. This is not only good for the obvious reasons but I think it sends a strong message to the team... If you suck then get out. The message should be clear for Amauri, Melo and Poulsen (he is been playing better now). This is the first step to get a good coach and committed players. It shows that we are serious about becoming a good club. I think this means Ferrara has to win, if not he'll be the next victim of Bettega's reorganization.
  • Daniel
Please remove the two stars on his sleeves.
Look, I've been watching Juve since our relegation, so I had never heard of Bettega's outside-the-field-magics. This summer we are going to get some stars, believe me.
  • Gaetano
finally (sigh). Nice photoshop work alessio!
  • Sofia
    THANK GOD! FINALLY!!!
Bettega is hero of the week for getting rid of Molinaro and Tiago in the span of a week?

Ciao Tiago! I really hope you do well at Atletico...then maybe you will never wear a Juve shirt again :)
  • The day we all were dreaming for. Bettega has come swinging in old-school
