Donadoni did the right thing here giving our Bianconero the captain’s arm band. Really though, it was a no-brainer. Buffon is the world’s greatest goalkeeper, the world’s greatest father, the world’s greatest teammate, the world’s greatest lover, and the world’s greatest human ever. I can’t wait for this game against the Oranje today. Robben is out, Persie is out, and so is Babel. We are gonna cream them. I’m heading to the bar! Forza Italia!

IERI… OGGI… DOMANI… SEMPRE JUVE!!!

Another funny readback, two guys named Juan Rohrmann and Gianfranco (I don't think the same one from the Milan Offsides) used to write here, and had an argument about preseason objectives. http://juventus.theoffside.com...

I just don’t have blind faith thinking initially we can beat Inter or Milan like we did with our trophy team pre-Serie B.

Blind faith? Undefeated against Milan, Roma, and Inter this year and beat em all too. Forza Juve!

ps- I wonder where the duo went? Rest assured, come next season Roberto and I will still be at the helm.

juve need 1 more winger. Nedved and Camo are getting old.
  • adam
Agreed, Marchisio was very good this season and impressed me in the Toulon tournament. Maybe the olympics will be his chance to show the management what he can do. I prefer Aquilani over Xabi Alonso, but why aren't we going after Montolivo he can be as good if not better than Aquilani.
  • agiamba
Edkal certainly. He's young and inexperienced.

We'll get one or the other, I highly doubt both...but I'm not sure if they plan to keep Marchisio. He impressed me this season enough to stay.
  • adam
If we're planning on getting Xabi Alonso and Aquilani, what are we gonna do with Marchisio and Ekdal? Are they gonna be loaned out again?
  • Anthony
Del Piero did more than di natale did and he play about 30 mins the azzurri need to change thier style there so predictable. And the midfield jesus christ the all milan trio they just really proved why there in the uefa cup not the cl. put de rossi in pirlo can move more foward.
  • agiamba
I'm biased as shit towards Del Piero but I think he had a pretty good game, not that that says too much given his surroundings.
  • agiamba
I mean just his prominence. Both his fans and critics expect him to be the savior, even if he's mostly been mediocre with the Azzurri. If he has a bad evening, people call for him to retire. If Di Natale or Camoranesi do (as they did tonight) it's a point of discussion in the game's performance and no more.

    allessio, whats adp's "profile"?

classy, skilled, experienced? I dont know what you could ever mean?
  • agiamba
Wow, this is absolutely horseshit. Because of Del Piero's profile, he's naturally damned if he doesn't get on the scoreboard, even if he was one of the better players today. Here's a comment from SI, (uneducated, I know) after mentioning how Italy was "too old."

"Donadoni brought in Alessandro Del Piero in the 64th minute, but that too seemed to be for old time's sake."

No mention of Cassano's sub, or the fact that Del Piero (with Cassano) were better than ADN, Camo, and Toni.

Well, I guess the Dutch brought the Hot nun & orphans.
  • agiamba
If it wasn't for superman, it'd be 5-0 now.
  • Dario
The greatest lover? Would you mind telling us how you know that?
  • I completely forgot about Zambro. WOW! Him at RB with Grosso on the left instead of Panucci. My worry with Chiellini and the Matrix in the line up together is that we'll be either too physical and risk getting cards, or without them we may get too soft with Grosso, and Zambro. They should play separately.

What a great result for Italy today with France and Romania scoreless. If Italy beats Holland here we will have the perfect start! FORZA AZZURRI!!!
  • Alessio I agree on Zambro, but Grosso, Panucci, Matrix, Zambro is the best bet when it comes to experience, I just dont like Matrix and hope that Barzagli or Chielini are in his place.
  • PoketKings
Sounds like the speech the trainer was giving Ramses (In NACHO LIBRE). Ramses' eyes are #1. Ramses' legs are #1...

And then of course, the hot nun and the orphans show up and Nacho defeats Ramses.

So which team has the hot nun and the orphans?
  • agiamba
I saw that. Good. He will displace Molinaro (if he stays) immediately.
  • adam
We have officially bought the remaining half of De Ceglie for £2.8 mil.

    Chiellini at right-back?

Zambrotta will be LB, I'm betting Zambrotta-Materazzi-Barzagli-Panucci

Giorgio should take the Matrix's spot though.
  • It will most likely be the pairing of Materazzi and Barzagli in the middle, with Grosso on the left, and either Panucci or Chiellini on the right. In an interview this morning, The Don said Panucci's knee was now 100% good to go. It'll be a tossup between the Roman and Turin man.

But literally, Cannavaro's spot on the team was replaced by this kid Gamberini from Fiorentina.
  • vialli
    probably chiellini
  • JC
Glad to see Gigi as captain. btw, who has replaced cannavaro?
