“Bianconero e il calcio quello veeeeero”
By: roberto | April 27th, 2009
Champions League, Scudetto, Coppa Italia, and now second place. I’m feeling really depressed about my beloved club tonight guys and girls. Ideally I’d want to write something here that would rally us around the team in a positive way but I can’t seem to muster that kind of thinking right now. This isn’t about the draw against Reggina yesterday, or the loss against Lazio (I could really go on here)… but this has been brewing for a while. I just feel as though we’ve lost our way and I so badly want my Grande Juve back.
Here’s a snippet of an article I found recently that represents a little piece of where these feelings are coming from;
Comparing the Triade of Antonio Giraudo, Roberto Bettega and Moggi to Giovanni Cobolli Gigli, Jean Claude Blanc and Alessio Secco is like comparing The Three Tenors to the Marx Brothers. And when you throw Ranieri in front of the camera as well, you really do have a comic act that surpasses anything ever seen in Hollywood. Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport have made it clear that they have no trust in the current Juventus project, and this morning blew up a huge front page picture of the quartet minus their weakest link Secco, headlined: “Restate Tutti?” – “Everybody Staying?”- goal.com
Fuck keep Blanc if you must. From what I can tell his only job has revolved around our Delle Alpi reno. But come on, Secco and Gigli just need to get the fuck out. Bring in some ex-Juventini who’ve worn our colours with intensity and pride (fast forward video to 2:35). We need one or two veterans there who’ve played the game at a high level and who know what it takes to win. Not some bunch of posers and University grads, myself included. This argument also refers to Ranieri’s (at times) way too diplomatic diposition and his extremely predictable style of play i.e. wing wing wing wing wing cross cross cross cross cross.
Considering what’s at stake here I’m glad those Curva Sud, Stanley Kubrick admirers, voiced their opinions recently;
The ultras of the Curva Sud have come together in protest and have released a statement warning the directors that they won’t stand for another season like this. “Juve are a prestigious side and we won’t let anyone turn this into a provincial club that is sent spiralling by any old opponent,” slammed the supporters. “Enough of these false champions,” added the open letter- C4
Enough of these false champions indeed. Stop the penny-pinching! Every die hard Bianconero/a feels to a certain degree what was discussed here. In the end, I guess that’s the positive thing we can take away from this post. In Italy we’ve got the most amount of supporters, and thanks to blogs/forums like these we can try to amass and mobilize an even greater number of voices throughout the world. Whether or not we can get Secco or whoever fired because of it remains to be seen, but you have to start somewhere right?
IERI… OGGI… DOMANI… SEMPRE JUVE!!!

mauro is brainwashed:
“We are all behind Ranieri. There is a project in place and we want to work together until the end,” the midfielder was quoted as saying by Calciomercato.
from Goal.com.
There is a project, Mauro? What project?

wtf Mauro?
Tom I remember reading something not to long ago where Camoranesi was in fact speaking about how other smaller (provincial) teams in the league would fear playing Juventus and hope to concede only two or three goals before the game. He went on to say that this Juventus has lost it’s predatory-like feel.
Maybe that’s why he playing like an enforcer instead of what he’s better at these days… Mauro Mauro Mauro what are you doing?

im really starting to wish that the Juve in real life was more like the Juve i manage in Football Manager. Maybe i could do better than ranieri…

Apparently Ranieri knows what the problem is, but he won’t say until the end of the season.

Any ideas what’s going on? I was a little surprised at both the Coppa exit and the 2-2 draw with Reggina.

Neil, I read that too. It could just be some bullshit he made up that was meant to scare some players playing/practicing shitty for the last five games. Or, he’s scared he might get fired and he’s trying to protect himself. Or, he really truly does know what’s wrong with the team, effectively sealing his own fate if next year he doesn’t win anything again. Who know’s?
No consistency Neil, maybe that’s our problem.

Right now, C. Zanetti hit it on the head, lack of motivation. No Coppa, no CL, no Scudetto…but we´re pretty much assured a CL group spot for next year (cross fingers) so the players are just kind of meh now. You saw it last year as well, barely drawing Catania at home and drawing 3-3 with Sampdoria.
I wonder if he´s referring to that or our season-long problem.

Angry Juventus Fans Protest In Turin: Sack The Board!
Tough times for Juve as angry fans call for heads to roll…
28 Apr 2009 10:15:41
Juventus fans are showing signs of increasing tension and unrest as they turn their back on the directors by protesting outside the club’s offices in Turin. A number of ultras from the ‘Drughi’ group have erected a banner against the club in protest for the recent downturn in Turin.
The banner reads:
“Absent owners, incompetent directors. We want out our Juventus.”
The banner was placed directly in front of the Fiat centre where the group which controls Juventus is based. The fans are aiming to direct their anger at the Agnelli family directly, rather than show a banner at the club’s training ground at Vinovo, which is what happened last week.
Reports suggest the Ultras are trying hard to persuade the club’s hierarchy to get rid of the current board. Meetings are taking place this week at Exor, the Juventus holding company, as the club’s shareholders meet at the annual general meeting. It’s clear that the fans want answers following all the recent debacles on the pitch. Tuttosport claims the club’s future is up in the air as the shareholders anxiously await reassuring news from the chiefs.
It has begun………..

Such negativity!
Appeal for Juventus-Lecce denied: note by the club
Juventus Football Club took note of the decision taken by the Courts of Justice which confirmed the decision taken by the sport authorities with regards to the home match against Lecce. While awaiting the reasons for the decision, in order to take ulterior actions, the club expressed its surprise with regards to the news which was spread by certain press agencies a good hour before the end of the works by the court and the pronunciation of the decision itself.Posted from

just read what elkann said yesterday. i am happy that agnelli family still care about what is going in Juve.
He defends Blanc and gives cryptic comments on Ranieri’s future. Very good news indeed.
——
In the afternoon, he made a cryptic comment in response to a question on faith in the coach who is tied contractually to Juventus until 2010: “We take stock at the end of the season, this isn’t the right time to be tackling this issue. You know the team and the players too: they will try to win all the games left till the end of the season.”from Gazzetta, english edition

Hey guys, who do you think has been the best player this season for us. i really can’t think of anyone who stood out for us like last year, there was del piero, trezgol, chielinni and buffon. But if it was anyone this season i would say Claudio Marchisio, hes been out shining light this year in my opinion.

Sissoko obviously. But if your question is who has been the best player besides Sissoko, I would have to agree. Chiellini and Amauri were great, but inconsistent in my humble opinion. Marchisio has been the only source of happiness for me over the past month.

Yeah and sissoko when he was playing was great, but is missing too much of hte season to be counted. But otherwise i reckon he was pretty frikin great.

LOL, Weston if only FM was real. I’m about to win my 4th Serie A in a row with Juve and I have Santon and Messi on my team, while Platini bought the club from Cobolli Gigli and is my chairman haha. I agree with getting rid of Secco, he fucking sucks and he can’t bring in any kind of real talent if his life depended on it(Ahhh, Big Luciano we miss you…). Cobolli and Blanc are fine where they are and with someone competent to replace Secco that trio would be great. I think Ranieri is a good coach who has done fairly decent in 2 years with the P.O.S he has had 2 put on the field(knezevic, zebina, marchionni, molinaro), however I would like someone who was part of the Juve history in the past.Conte would be a good option, Ciro would be a solid idea also as he is very well respected all over Italy and he knows the tactical aspect of the game pretty well(plus he works with Lippi too
). To revitalize itself and to become a real contender once again, Juve would need to get rid of all of its shitty players and have faith in the younger guys, while bringing in some newly acquired talent. Players leaving because they fucking suck or they are too old and scarse for their age to play:Knezevic(SHIT),Legrottaglie(2 OLD),Marchionni(SHIT),Mellberg(2 OLD),Molinaro(SHIT),Salihamidzic(2 OLD),Tiago(scarse, he just can’t play in serie A),C Zanetti(OLD, always injured),Zebina(OLD, scarse/always injured)(as much as it hurts me 2 say this one) Camoranesi (always injured)Chimenti(2 OLD).Posted from

NO HELL NO NEVER EVER EVER EVER GET RID OF CAMO, HE IS TOO MUCH OF A GENIUS ON THE BALL, HE CAN CHANGE A MATCH IN THE CLICK OF the FINGERS! I love the guy too much , he migth be old, and injury prone, but he is indeespensible when we have him!

Sam I would agree with you that Marchisio has been our best player. He’s been extremely consistent…..Buffon was out for a long time, Sissoko would have great games then give the ball away too much, and Del Piero and Amauri were both on fire before Christmas but have cooled off very much so.

ive been reading about that is it sort of like the premier league set up?
watching the bremen-hamburg game, italy needs to follow the german model, excellent stadiums and the atmosphere is still amazing not like most of the english stadiums.
heres a name for you as well as a replacement for pavel, piotr trochowski. he is the polish/german nedved and wouldnt be as expensive as some of the names linked to you

I’m sorry Alex but personally I don’t like Piotr Trochowski. Nedved now I think, is better thank Trochowski will ever be. Trochowski would be like a Poulsen or a Tiago for the wing, a decent player who could be used as a back up, but definitely not starting material. Either get a pure, established AML or give the youngsters a chance. Personally, I would keep Pavel for 1 more year as he still can play 5-10 good games a season, while have Iago and Fausto Rossi try to learn from him. I’ve seen Fausto Rossi play in Juve’s friendlies last summer and I think he can turn out 2 be one of the best left wingers in Italy and Europe in 5 years time. Giovinco, even tho better as an AMC, or “mezzapunta” can step in and play a dozen or so games on the LW. For its mid, I think Juve should get either Diego(most likely) or Obi Mikel who’s a FA(i don’t think they will tho). With Diego behind the attack and with Marchisio and Momo behind him to break up play and utilize space the team would be much better. All of Juve’s mid would end up being : Fausto Rossi,Iago,Nedved,Giovinco,Marchisio,Ekdal,Sissoko,Diego,Camo and another good AMR who would be bought with the money received from selling Poulsen and the others I mentioned above.

Yea, Marchisio has been awesome this year, a revelation. Only has two goals, but both against good teams, and at vital times, just winning 1-0 both times because of his goal, against Napoli and Fiorentina (what a beautiful chip over one of the best keepers in Serie A). He’s been our best player this season along with Chiellini. Sissoko and Camoranesi are some of our best this year too, but have had injury problems. Manninger and Giovinco too, but they dont get enough playing time.

New post about one of my favorite players, Antonio Conte, and his beginnings as a coach.

I am kind of undecided about ranieri I think he’s an decent enough coach, but he isn’t playing how he wants to. He’s trying to make juventus play like they did under Cappelo (note the use 2 holding midfielders one given permission to get forward and the dependence of play on the wings, remember how great Camo was during that period. I personally think that the formation (at least at home) should be suited so that Giovinco plays in the AMC role, he can play on the wings in away games, chiellini should play left back (i think that’s his natural position, even though he’s among the best centre backs right now).
