Marchionni was incredibly inconsistent and his touch was heavier than lead. Singlehandedly cost us points against both Inter and Milan. We don’t need him anymore, he’s a winger and he won’t be starting for Italy for long.

Molinaro is decent, but Grosso is better. Lyon let him go because he had 1 year left on his contract and they are rebuilding, same reason Juninho left. Finally, we’ll have a starting left-back that can cross.

Juve fans are quick to want to discard our players who aren’t recognized international stars. Molinaro is unfairly treated by Juve fans. He’s as good as Grosso at this point. We’re not getting 2006 Grosso. Lyon didn’t let him go for short money because he’s at the top of his game. He’s no Evra. Molinaro is faster and has more upside than Grosso, but Grosso is adored for what he accomplished for Italy 3 years ago. Last year many Juve fans trashed Marchionni and adored Marchisio. Marchionni played lights out while Camoranesi was injured. Marchisio is a work in progress at best. Now Marchionni is playing 90 minutes/game for Fiorentina, and also starting for Italy. Grygera also judged too harshly. Juve’s problems have not been with its defense. Juve’s hangers on are Zebina and Tiago. Time for them to go to make room for our up and comers. Further prediction — we’ll be sick and tired of Melo by mid season. Too many divas in the middle of the field and too little teamwork.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he did take that kind of paycut. Not too many players are making more than 3mil net at Juve, and he already passed on a 500k bonus Lyon owed him to facilitate the move.

No word on contract length, Goal.com says a laughably long 3-years, it’ll be more like 1 or 2, the salary is rumored to be €1.2million. It’s not the Palermo defender I wanted, but he’s a good player and it’ll help the Azzurri.

There is no way Grosso took a big check cut to join Juve.

In France the withholding/taxes are hgher then Italy, so even the rumored 1.5m Euros is probably NET ! Gross being around 3m Euros..

I don’t think Grygera is that awful at RB, I think he’s as good defensively as Zebina and sometimes better, like he played quite well in the Roma game. I still think we need to kick out JZ15 as soon as possible.

Short answer, no. Molinaro cannot even play on the left, De Ceglie looked EXTREMELY awkward on the right (Ranieri tried him out there atleast once) and is best suited for that left wing, and Grosso’s our first choice LB, so no point wasting him on the right. Brazzo and Caceres are much better options for RB.
