There’s an unwritten rule in international football that managers try not to break the players that are “on loan” to them from the clubs. If it’s a real match, that’s thrown out the window. If it’s a qualifier, the manager still does whatever he pleases. If it’s a friendly match against a pretty crappy side after the qualifier, then the manager should be rotating, and crucially, resting players that he used in the first leg. It’s not a requirement, it’s just generally understood that oh, say, if a striker plays 90 minutes in a qualifier, he’s rested for the next game. (If it’s a friendly)

Prandelli obviously doesn’t believe that, as he decided to continue to play Giorgio Chiellini, despite rotating oh, the entire rest of the team. (Save his boy Montolivo, but he still has much to prove in Azzurro) And what happened? It cursed that spot, man. First, Giorgio picks up an injury 17 minutes into the match, and his substitute, Davide Astori, was sent off! Spooky. The Gods have spoken, Cesare.

So Keyser Giorgio is injured. One of the most injury-immune players on the team, and he’ll be out for approximately a month- in all seriousness, that might end up tying his personal record for longest time injured. What does that mean? It means against a rejuvenated Roma, with creative geniuses lining up against us, like Totti, Vucinic, and…uh, Taddei and Perrotta (okay, omit the last 2) we get to see the dreaded Barzagli-Bonucci pairing make its return. And that’s not even talking about the possibility of seeing Traore, Grosso, Grygera, or Motta lining up the flanks. God help us all.

But I’m not a particularly religious person, so uh……….hey, Trapattoni, please say a prayer for us!

A 35 year old Milan fan, head of an ultra black and red group was arrested a couple of hours ago ahead of the Derby della Madonnina.

In his car, the police found an 'artisan' explosive device deemed potentially deadly, 4 knives, a baseball bat and a can of pepper spray, all believed to have been brought with in order to cause ruckus and potentially hurt rival interisti.

Seeing that now Bonucci and Marchisio might be KO, I propose this: take this team to Bonassola, my ancestral town which is 3 hours' drive from Torino, and let them train on the sands of the beach. For two years in a row, being the most injury-plagued team of all time is not a distinction I wish to remember.

Marchisio and Bonucci didn't finish training in a few hours we will know what the problem was and whether they can play tonight or not. Without Bonucci and Marchisio we might see Freddy Sorensen at CB or Grygera, one way or another it doesn't really look good.

That is one nice goal. The kid is full of confidence right now and I really hope he gets a chance at Juve next season. I wouldn't mind him starting tomorrow if he was in our team given that ADP is injured.

Really not feeling very confident at all about this one considering our injuries. We've lost the best defender on an already porous defense and the creative spark who has been integral in the creation of goals recently in ADP. Also, there is the new Roma owner whom the Roman players will be trying extra hard to impress and Roma generally have played very well at home this year. Sorry to be such a downer but also trying to be realistic. Hoping for the best though.

On a separate note, I have seen a few projected Roma lineupsmand Menez isn't in any of them. Is he out or just presumed very unlikely to start?
